  1. I wouldn't mind having him for super cheap!!!! Hopefully he pans out. He is only 26yr which is the only factor for me really.

  2. Don't waste money or one of our assets on this guy! Of course Columbus is not going to say he is a problem, they are trying to dump him! Whatever his problem is we don't need it in our dressing room!

  3. I don't think Kings will re-sign Kaliyev. Do you think the Habs will take a good look at him, and try to get him? He would bring more offense, especially on the PP. And he wouldn't cost much to get.

  4. I don't want either Necas, Zegras, or Laine. The number one concern for me are their contracts or pending contracts. They will cost more than Suzuki, and it will hurt the team's cap structure. Look at what happened to Toronto after signing Tavares.

  5. Exactly coach on the higher draft pick. The price would be expensive. Going after Laine would be a mistake, not worth the price.

  6. Laine’s best years are already behind him. Maybe he still has one or two good seasons in the future but with his past I don’t see him making a big shift in his career.
Please stay away unless it’s a bargain.

  7. I thought laine has limited no trade clause in his contract? I would be shocked if he accepted a trade to montreal.

  8. Given the unpredictable nature of the draft this year, I would bet Hughes has certain scenarios under which he would trade for another first round pick, but with the probability of knowing who will be available at a certain spot being hard to pin down, I bet he waits for the day of the draft, and moves only after it's clear who the pick would be.

  9. If I was manager, I would pick Iginla (5) and trade up from 26 to take Eiserman. It might cost Matheson, but could imagine the pedigree of having an Iginla and an Eiserman on your team❣️

  10. In my opinion, Laine is a red flag. First, he makes WAYYYY too much money vs his production. At $8.7M its just too much to spend. Second, he hasnt played a full season in almost 6 years. He is too often injured. And third, is this his second team that he no longer wants to play for? He seems like a bit of a diva, or problem child. In my opinion, he is HUGELY over-rated and would fit on a more veteran team, in a secondary role, where hs doesnt have to be the main guy. At 26, he should be in the prime of his NHL career, but he has struggled to find a home. In the Habs development, I dont see a good fit. Let's hope Hughes takes a pass on Laine.

  11. It's not so much Laine wants out of Columbus, but part of the therapy for his mental issues recommends a reset of his life. When he was healthy and we could get him on the ice, I feel he produced. The top line of Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine the Jackets hoped would click never really materialized as they only played in 71 games together in those two years. This year he was attacked by Rasmus Andersson after the game ended, suffered a concussion and missed 12 games. Six weeks later, a slew foot in Toronto caused him to fall awkwardly against the boards and break his clavicle. In the end, the injuries could not be avoided. When Laine and Gaudreau did play together, Patrik's numbers were 27-33-60. Because of Laine's frequent injuries, the longest streak of consecutive games he and Johnny played in together was 20. In those games Patrik's numbers were 6-12-18. After Gaudreau missed two games, they played 13 more games together where Patrik went 6-10-16. So when they played together consistently in 33 of 35 games, Patrik went 12-22-34, slightly better than a point a game. I still think if he can stay healthy and his head is right, Patrik can score 35 goals a year in the NHL.
One other note, Ottawa is now willing to part with pick #7 in this year's draft. When you consider New Jersey (#10) and Buffalo (#11) are also willing to move off their first round picks, it leads you to believe the scouts are not impressed with this year's crop and teams would get a better player in trade than they'd get if they keep their pick. I find that interesting .If that's true, that's bad news for teams like Utah and Chicago who are in long rebuilds and are loaded with picks in a year where there isn't much talent to be found. Utah has 12 picks this year, Montreal has 11, Chicago has 8.

  12. Patrik laine is in his prime, at the very least he is a poor mans pacioretty,,,the upswing is he can fetch u 50,,,,why? Because he's that good,,,he's definitely a top 3

  13. Another top 10 or 15 pick would be amazing
To NJ Habs 26th and Sam Montambeault for there 10th
NJ wanted Monty but settled for Allen
I beleive the Duo would be an upgrade for NJ at a cheaper price then a Markstrom
    Habs Draft
Tig or Lidstrom and Beckett Senneke or Sam Dickinson with 5th and 10th
