I’m not gonna pretend to play Monday morning quarterback because I didn’t necessarily feel seager was a must keep at the moment of his free agency either. Like sure he’d be nice to keep but if his money could go elsewhere I think part of me just needed a change of players .. seager was great when he was on the field as a dodger but he was off a lot with little weird Injuries that always seemed to get him like one he’s dealing with now so giving a long contract for a lot of money to a guy like that felt dangerous.. his defense is pretty mediocre tbh.. he doesn’t really have range. He’s not awful but he’s not the best .. as far as the playoffs seager had more bad playoffs than good .. he definitely carried In 2020 and had his moments in other years but to say seager was a clutch bat when you needed him wouldn’t be true .. for all those reasons I thought if a guy like freeman is gettable you pick him over seager any day especially when you also consider contracts required.. I never thought freeman would be a true possibility but thought if it was..
now looking back at it I think we made a mistake. Seager was a homegrown drafted player at a premium position that was a good no issues guy off the field .. sure there was risk as far as health and still is for the rangers but you keep a guy like that for his whole career I think seager will end up going into HOF. He’s not there yet but I believe he will be.. also even tho he was never super clutch he was definitely more clutch than a guy like Mookie or ohtani
Bruh, dodgers paying these guys big bucks just to strike out back to back games, so disappointing.

Rangers missed out on getting Montgomery back but signed Lorenzen late and he's BETTER than Montgomery. And cost the Rangers $10 million less.

This game should be studied. Everything that could go wrong for the Dodgers, did. This pitcher rotation just didn't work out. The Big 3 cannot be called Big 3 without a single one of them hitting in that crucial eight innings when any hit would have tied the game.
He was clearly safe and it was not close.
Watching 6 of the last 7 hitters for the dodgers strike out was just pathetic. Absolutely infuriating. I keep seeing this, if the top 4 struggle batting the offense disappears altogether.
