McDavey and Crysaitle finally took off their diapers and worked for the gazillions of dollars they earn seasonal. It's too little too late . The Panthers got the split in Edmonton they needed to win the series. McDavey and Crysaitle will never win the cup for that organization.

What is going on with Draisaitl? Suddenly he cannot make a shot on goal at all. He either hits the side of the net or a post and out. No accuracy whatsoever, absolutely terrible. McDavid was not much better. Missed the net so many times. The only reason Oilers won this game was that the rest of team FINALLY realized they can not and should not rely on their so called "superstars" to do the job. And then they pretty much did it all by themselves. And it was a complete demolition job!

A blow out like tonight is often followed by a let down. The Oilers need to make sure that doesn’t happen. Take the positives from this game and then forget it completely. Be ready to start back at zero against a team that is highly motivated and wide awake. No question Florida will be ready for next game.
On the positive side, the road ahead is completely unambiguous for the Oilers. They need to win the next three games. Florida lacks that clarity. They can lose the next game and the one after that and still win the cup. This situation is actually to the Oilers advantage, they play their best hockey when their backs are to the wall. They’re in the situation that they thrive on for the next 3 games. So, they just need to suck it up and get the job done,
What I like, besides the final goal tally of course-is that the Oilers played with intensity and effort for a full 60 minutes. No let up. If they keep doing that, they've definitely got a shot.
In the '72 Summit series Canada needed to win 3 straight to avoid a series loss against the Russians. With national pride on the line, they pulled it off. Phil Esposito commented that Canada invented hockey-it IS our game. These guys should watch some highlight reels of that series for a bit of inspiration–great effort tonight!!
