Christ, Chynoweth had an awful system in Toronto, their PK was basically just as bad as the Jets.
Glad to see True North is still committed to mediocrity. 🫡
Edit: TBF, some of that was because the Leafs just got worse players on defence than they had in 2021 when Chynoweth’s aggressive PK system was put in place.
Still, I remain, as always, pessimistic.

Lots of people shitting on the Toronto system but here’s the thing: Winnipeg’s PK personnel is significantly better than Toronto’s.
The problem in Toronto is the opposite of Winnipeg’s. Toronto has all the top-end skill they need but they can’t fill out their defensive role players to save their lives.
Lowry, Neiderreiter, Namestnikov are better defensive forwards than just about anyone on the Leafs. The Leafs also do not have a defenceman as good as Dylan Demelo much less Josh Morrissey.
Then you account for the fact that Toronto’s goalie is who he is and we have Connor Hellebuyck and it becomes obvious that while they had similar “results”, you can’t really be comparing those results in an apples-to-apples way.
