Caps management: So people have been laughing at us trading Philip Forsberg for Martin Erat for over a decade, how do we turn this around.
Solution: Trade Kuemper for PLD and buyout Capfriendly so that everything is swept under the carpet. Job done!
His NTC actually goes away.
Laine and Dubois? 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Pro sports is full of talented players who don't fulfill their potential, and players of lesser talent who over achieve. Dubois had 40 pts, #2 line center had 48. Nobody is throwing Danault under the bus…and unlike Dubois, Danault got to play center all year, and on the #2 line(kings highest scoring line) ALL YEAR. let me also add that the kings are a defense first team. Dubois will do well in Washington, kings will get bounced in first round AGAIN.
That’s the best thing to come out of Washington since cadaver Joe got elected. Now my Kings can get back to business by losing to Edmonton in the first round again next season
Dubois looked good during the Worlds this year and Washington took notice.
As a Penguins fan I hope he makes the Caps worse 😂
Kick out of LA, talk about white hype this guy . Typical French talent these days, all talk nothing more.
Kings still gave up 3 players and 2nd rnd draft pick – a disaster really.
I know plenty who will say Balke did a good job at getting rid of Dubois. I think it was a big mistake trading and signing a guy for 8.5 to center the 3rd line. On top of it, the Kings play a system that doesn't exactly promote offense. The Capitals are taking a shot that Dubois is going to rebound when he isn't playing the 1- 3- 1 system, and I think it's likely that he will have a better season next year. The Kings get Kuemper. He's mid-30s ,overpaid, and has little to no upside. The Caps just got rid of a backup making 5+ for the next 3 years and are getting a guy who is going to be 26 this year. It's a risk, but I think it's worth it when you look at the Caps. Maybe Dubois can turn it around when he's playing top line minutes and playing on the top PP. I think he's going to score 60 + points next year, and Blake will be given his walking papers.
Big, lazy, frenchy, what else is there to say? No way.
he's just like Anthony Mantha, big and talented but no heart. He won't ever be an impact in the NHL.
Fool me thrice?
Every team that signs PLD thinks they have the code to unlock his true potential. That record is 0-3.
This trade tells us that there is an NHL GM who is an even bigger sucker than Rob Blake.
Glad this lazy bum is off the books.
Capitols are so stupid
Blake's goaltending acumen is brutal. Trades for Ben Bishop when Budaj was doing great. Cal Petersen's huge contract. Trading legend Quick. Korpisalo. Now retread Kuemper. Good grief, how is he an upgrade over Talbot? One of the guys you drafted should have been ready by now.
PLD….is just a larger version of Matt Duchene. Great players….in their contract year…then…crickets.
I think dramatically smaller contracts with performance bonuses would help weed out the guys like Dubois
Dubois isn't the only one. The NHL is plagued with guys who get paid and all of a sudden disappear. Something has to be done about the spoiled child mentality in the league or you're going to continue seeing viewership decline.
Laine Dubois Puljarvi – 3 big talented top four picks that just have to check their brains.
Surprised Montreal didn't offer Dvorak plus Price's LTIR contract and see if LA Kings bite on that.
Ovi and Wilson are alpha dogs in Washington
