Toffolli and Teravainen are my choices.

I’m not sure how I feel about showtime coming back.
On one hand he sucked. For us. On the other hand, he was clearly hurt. Dude is a gamer and if we swap 3m of Goodrow for 3m of Kane, it’s a big time player AND someone who is way more skilled, leader, etc
Idk what Kane is expecting but if we can scoop him for maybe 2m (he signed 2.7 in Detroit) I’d take a flyer

Arvidsson could be a sneaky good option

Jonathan Marchessault would be my top choice followed up by Jake DeBrusk or Patrick Kane (If he takes a team friendly contract in the 3M range).
Avoid Max Pacioretty and Carolina won’t be trading us the rights to sign Martin Necas lmfao
Key-Tip-7521
Toffoli, Arvidsson, DeBrusk
In that order.
Stop w/ the obsession with Patrick Kane and Guentzel

Hot take. Let’s not spend money on a forward. We need to spend big to get S-tier/A-tier defensemen.
Laf has shown, especially towards the end, that he can razzle and dazzle. He should be 1RW next season. Mika/Kreids need a puck handler with them – neither of them can drive play, other than with their breakaways. Their strength is their ability to shut down (or cool down) opposing team top lines. Laf has been a defensive liability at 2RW. Mika and Kreider may be able to make up for his defensive lapses. (And let’s hope Mika returns next season with a shaved head)
Trocheck and Panarin need a net-front finisher with them. Laf is better at driving play than handling sharp passes from those 2. Cuylle (if he can switch over) or even Kakko, can try to take over. Their play style meshes more… if they can show that they can win position battles net front and have the finishing touch, which they’ve both shown flashes of. They’re both more defensive minded than Laf, even though they usually get in deep, so they can help clean up Line 2’s risky plays. And anyone who plays with Panarin gets an automatic +10 boost.
Chytil will be back at 3C, and we did pretty damn well with him on the sidelines throughout the year… and in the playoffs, to be frank. Once the season starts, we can fill out 3rd and 4th liners relatively easily internally or from trades. We kept all of our prospects, and the idea of seeing the twin towers be good enough to be a permanent 4th line presence sat in front of a goalie would be amazing and hilarious. Depth is still our strength.
We got burned on defense. Fox can’t be the only dman we have that can handle a puck and score goals (and get out from under an aggressive forecheck). Jones is too green – he’ll need time to grow in. Lindgren is an injury magnet. Gus is « veteran » presence that we don’t necessarily need. Miller’s fine as-is… he just needs to work on his physicality during the offseason – he’s wasting away his size, other than what he does with his ridiculous poke checks, and that 1-time savagery during the line brawl. Trouba… don’t think much more needs to be said.

I like Kane and Arvidsson because I think both of them would be willing to take short term deals and I think that’s important for us with keeping space for someone like Perreault or othmann or a breakout from a guy like cuylle or kakko. I think those two could definitely be enough too give us the offensive boost we need in the top6.
I like teuvo because he’s a great two way forward and can still chip in offensively so he wouldn’t be a bad option either if we did go with a guy with more term.
There are a lot of guys on this list I’d be happy with tho, guess we will have to wait and see.
