Say what you will about Pronman, but he’s usually pretty plugged in to the NHL teams scouting world. I don’t think Demidov falls that far, but I wouldn’t be surpsurprised if he goes 4-5. Interestingly he notes that one scout guesses half the league doesn’t have Arty and Ivan 2/3 on their list in some order. Additionally, at least one team doesn’t have either of these players in their top 5. Most league sources think Arty goes 2.

If Demidov falls past Montreal, KD better being doing everything under the Sun to trade up and go get him.

I think Levy will be a fine pick and I’ll be excited our defense is set, but man does it kinda fall flat when we told ourselves all year « were tanking to get elite players » and we go on and pick the guy who alot of scouts are saying may not even be a top line player whilst passing on someone who alot of scouts are saying could be a Kucherov tier player.
Said all year « get a guy who can play with Bedard » and we are gonna take a guy who will probably need a couple years in the NCAA and maybe even some time in the AHL on top of that before coming to play. While passing on the guy who can come over in March.
Getting scolded because I find it disappointing that we aren’t going to take the consensus #2 prospect.

It’s like the NFL draft all over again…

Amazing how talented scorers can fall so much

How come he’s the only scout that thinks this way? Like he’s got something to prove…

To me, I’m always curious what the tipping point is. Like the article mentions that it has been close between Levs and Demidov. Maybe at that point, you just go with the player you know better.

Friedeman mentioned 2 guys who are draft analysts that know more about what’s going than even he does, and defers to them, and they both have the Hawks picking Demidov.

If Demidov falls to 5 and the Habs do not pick him.. I sell my Plekanec jersey and I buy a Bedard jersey and I become a 50/50 hawks habs fan…

How much you wanna bet Demidov doesn’t go #9?
