Should leave plenty of cap space for ~~Marchessault~~ He’s a pred now.
Would have been perfect.

Seriously, we couldn’t find a younger guy with some potential upside to fill that spot?

Not upset or intrigued. This is whatever.

Cheap deal which is fine but I’m guessing 4th line. At least that’s what I’m hoping. We really need to quit putting guys in the top 6 who have no business being there. Let the kids get their shot there and see what they can do

22 points last year in 76 games (6 goals 16 assists) +/- (-5), averaging about 14 minutes a game.
He showed a lot more promise when we acquired with 14 points (8 goals and 6 assists) with a (0) +- in 23 games, so if we can get that version of him it’s a big win.
I think the knock on him throughout his years in Toronto is that his production came in spurts, then he sort of disappeared for long stretches which rings true to what we’ve seen as well I think.
Perhaps as a Finn he’s in a comfortable environment, and he fellow countrymen can give him confidence and push him towards more consistent play?
He’s fast (we know that) but what but would love to see a more consistent Kappy. It’s in there somewhere and he’s fun to watch when he’s making noise.

It’s fine

Kapanen is a good PKer. If his ego will allow him to play mainly 4th line minutes, I’m fine with that. Another distant concern might be having a veteran Finn on the team in case Aleksanteri Kaskimaki should get a crack at preseason.

Kasperi the Ghost player. Would’ve been ok with a 2 way deal for him to motivate him to be better and to have the roster flexibility to put in a player with potential, hunger and drive. But Bannister will probably set his name in stone on the 3rd line 😡
