  1. Doesn't Kane have a No-Trade in his contract? Why would he want to move and not get a chance to win the Cup? I do not see Kane going anywhere and why would you want him gone? A needed player in the playoffs.

  2. Maybe a package for Ceci and McLeod for a semi-decent RHD (2nd or 3rd line coming to mind) would be nice but we'll see. I know McLeod is fast, so is Holloway and he isn't hit adverse. Take care all.

  3. The best thing for oilers and Kane would for Kane to have surgery and come back healthy for playoffs. Frees up much needed cap space and gets back player for playoffs who can be a difference maker

  4. When injured, it's disappointing because of what Evander brings to the rink. When he's healthy, he's the guy you want because of what he brings to the rink, and especially for the playoff push. In his first partial season, he was a smoke show in the Post. Hammering bodies, making plays, and sniping goals. If he's legit needing to properly heal, fn eh, the Oilers have enough going as was proven in the cup final to play elite competitive hockey without Kane for a few months. Now with the re-signings and added guys, it leaves little room to doubt they'll be able to handle his absence. Nurse trade before Kane, but that's an almost impossible move at the current cap hit, and as decent as Cici is, there's room for improvement. Agree, McLeod is a decent player, but he doesn't hit and his productivity is questionable. A lot of the time he rolls into the offensive zone and then gives it away. I question his view of the ice. A McLeod/Cici move could be interesting.

  5. I think most Oiler fans would agree with trading McLeod, they need pick(s) too so maybe they recoup one. I kinda feel for Kane, he has the heart and brings what they need but he is a bit overpaid.

If there was a third Skinner to be had, I would say get him, just to mess with the play-by-play guys! :p

  6. Edmonton needs a first pass defenceman, someone who can pass the puck out of their end. Not just jam it up the boards and turn it over.
    A play making defencemen.

  7. Kane idea is actually a good one on LTIR until March , worked for Vegas year after year

  8. I’m a McLeod fan and would love to see him win a cup with the Oil, that said, I don’t want him wasting his youth on 4th line minutes. Trading him to a rebuild so he can play more minutes and relieving some cap space works for both parties.

  9. Jeff Jackson isn't stupid and he probably already has a plan to make this roster cap compliant. We just don't know what he has planned yet. A lot of people suggest to move Kane to LTIR, but then what if he's healthy 30-40 games into the season? If he trades Ceci and sends Joshua Brown down then they could resign Broberg and Holloway, but after that they don't have the cap room for another bottom pair defenseman and its probably best to leave Stecher as a 7th defenseman. Its a whole debate if they should trade Kane as on one hand his stats are not great without playing with Mcdavid and Draisaitl and there is not much room for him in the top six. but on the other hand there is an argument saying his physicality and play is valuable in the playoffs, and Kanes stats could be brought down because he was playing with a sports hernia. Trading Mcloud and sending Joshua Brown down makes the oilers cap compliant but then they don't have room to sign Holloway and Broberg. There is no real clear solution to this cap madness but im sure Jackson has something planned of is currently planning something.

  10. As Button said earlier today on TSN, mcleod is the odd man out. Genius . Get rid of him and replace him with a prospect from Bakersfield. Ryan , perry, and prospect is your third line. Janmark henrique brown is your third line.

  11. I don't understand why people say that Ceci should be traded…in my opinion, Ceci has been a good and reliable defenseman – as evidenced by the fact that he played important penalty-killing and late-game minutes throughout the playoffs.

  12. With the current additions I think that Ceci and Kulak are tradable and in the front I would trade Ryan and McLeod and possibly Perry. Yes I know that Perry has that veteran experience but at what cost when he doesn't have the production to add to the team.

  13. I think we need to move in from the McLeod experiment. He’s shown flashes but always reverts back to being a soft but fast player.

  14. They’ll want the cap space at trade deadline if they’re not planning maxing their LTIR so it would be nice to be cap compliant than over

  15. Why does Kane keep coming up he isn't going anywhere we need him healthy that's it ryan or Cody or both should be the ones to be going I'd think 🤔

  16. Can we bring up the 9 million dollar gorilla in the room that plays like a 2 million dollar defenseman? Trade the next 5 1st Rounders to dump that horrible contract. Ken Spendcock shouldn't be given a Walgreens to run.

  17. Kane when he is on top of his game; is a hard guy to replace. Had he not been sliced on his hand , then after the dirty check he took hurt his hip and had a hernia from over extended activity , those are hard injuries . of course he couldn't play a full season .

what a stupid thing to quote for a reason to give up on him . he scores more hat tricks in the playoffs then every oiler on the bench for easy 7 years . he scores more then 80% of the rest of the team .

WE NEED TO KEEP HIM PERIOD . EVERYTHING ELSE IS NONSENSE EXCUSES TO FREE UP CAP SPACE. GET RID OF NURSE AS HE HURTS THE TEAM FARM MORE THEN HELPS AND COSTS 9.5 A YEAR.
KANE HURT PLAYS BETTER THEN NURSE HEALTHY

  18. Im a Canucks fan who fell in love with Oiler fans lol and I will always be loyal to this channel. Thanks bro. I listened to a lot of the games through your channel. Even when u played the Canucks. It's like I knew .. The Oilers are Titans

  19. Kane on LTIR – do you really think he will be that for the whole season? I would trade him, I think he is past his best.

  20. I feel sorry for Ryan McLeod – we have quite a few players 30ish, he's only 24 isn't he. Good to keep some young players. Hopefully he can improve. McLeod, Holloway on the same line with that speed.

  21. Been an Oilers fan for years and we made some great moves so far this off season. Amazing. Now we are over populated now in defence and forwards and need some caps space back. Right now we’re over 4.24 over with Broberg and Holloway still to be signed. So call is 4.8 million over the cap. So who do we move? Here’s what I would like to see, to gain cap space and more to have in reserve for next seasons free agent class. I say we move Ceci 3.25, McLeod 2.1, McLeod 900 k and last but not least I say Stetcher or Carrick both strange signings so move one for 775 k for a total of 7.025 with total savings of 2.225 in the bank for the trade deadline next year which we will need and then some. Let’s hope we make some good deals. Kane is a wildcard. Would love to keep him healthy for the playoffs and will definitely help us, or try and move him when healthy? The team has some things to think about but this is a great time to move on from McLeod.

  22. The problem with Kane is he has been bumped down to the 4th line. With no pk time either how is Kane supposed to get ice time to justify his $5+ million a year salary?? Can you see Evander accepting playing 8-10 minutes a game?? I can’t. He’s still a 2nd line winger on 90% of the NHL teams. Just not this team. We’ve advanced too far. McLeod is still very young & getting him to accept 4th line duties & try to play his way up the roster depth chart is a more reasonable request than asking a 32yr old veteran to do that.

  23. Kane wants to stay he has built a life in Edmonton and they need his type of play he is by far the toughest power forward hitting and will drop gloves it makes sense Jackson had said kane is apart of roster he needs injury work but he won't waive his no trade he is happy there and is a big part of Edmonton with his charity work if they can get him healthy he would and will be a meness on ice for playoffs why would he want to move he isn't going to get a better chance at a cup and he has been a big part of Edmonton getting to where they are now

  24. Couldnt they renegotiate Nurse term and make him a life time Oiler?…Stretch out the current 6 years remaining to 12 years and make his cap hit $4,650,000? Is this possible?.

  25. McLeod has great speed but he's not a finisher. His game is soft for playoff hockey. He should bulk up. I'm not 100 % on this guy and his style

  26. He's a good player but dressing room poison. I doubt you could find too many people with a good thing to say about him especially his ex wife and the casinos he stiffed. I'm surprised he's still alive.
