1. Man I think you're a Sabres fan good video ,Savoie can't play in the League of men yet because he's not a man yet we need to make it to the 2nd season and the guy from Edmonton sounds to be a good player I think and i trust Mr.Adams we don't need to make deals for trades like Hall it won't work ,I'm waiting on Adams to bring Crosby to Buffalo😂

  2. McLeod struggled offensively as a 3rd line center, scoring a lot of his points on the wing, and struggled pretty badly defensively in the playoffs at times, finishing a -7 (admittedly a flawed stat, but it was also obvious by watching some of the games). I wish him the best and hope he reaches his potential in Buffalo. I'll be cheering for them now he's on their team, as I was a bigger fan of his than most.

  3. Swapped out Savoie for Helenius and added McLeod, who was much needed now. I like the trade for the sabres

  4. just one note here as a sabres/amerks fan who watched ryan johnson's entire season; he needs to spend as much of the year as possible in rochester, he has a lot of holes in his game still that need patching up and the sabres cannot afford to have him working through them up in buffalo. the org has a nasty habit of not utilizing the ahl dev system the way they should be and it's cost them over and over again

  5. As a Sabres fan, this was an exceptional breakdown of the trade. Savoie was not going to see the line up with the log jam of prospects. Injuries and underperforming when in the AHL had him buried. He could be a very good player in EDM developed him properly. Adams has been questioned for the redundancy in his picks and now finally sees that grit matters; probably Ruffs input.

  6. I kind of like it. Getting tougher now we need the top 2 lines to return to form, I fear that tage has a permanenttype of injury that's holding him to about 75 to 80 percent of his production, he is unable to go 100 percent and it is what it is

  7. They’re cooked. I don’t hate the trade but the team is so far from getting better and they’re not in a good place now. Another year no playoffs

  8. Fantastic breakdown. I'd add Anton Wahlberg to the "Also" list for the forwards. He's 6'3, and joined Rochester in their playoff run last spring (coming from Europe) just like Ostlund. Expected to be full time AHL this year.

  9. McLeod only has 1 year left on his contract. He isnt going to sign here. Terrible trading Matt. Matt has more upside. Kevyn should have got more back. Worst gm in hockey

  10. Kevyn did a poor job of drafting. Way too many guys 5 11 under lol. Kevyn is really bad at his job

  11. My money is on Adams in the unemployment line next year. Dealing his best player last season was a bad decision. I did like what he did for Okposo but that's about it. You have to pay outside the norm for people to want to come and play for Buffalo and it's probably the first team on players no trade lists.

  12. I could see Helenius ending up as the replacement for Lafferty, and Kulich for McLeod in a few years, but these moves gives the team actual proven players that they feel like helps make them more likely to make a run for the playoffs. Less unknowns I guess. Also, for Clifton, on the size point, we have a player that's 6'2 and a right shot coming up named Vsevolod Komarov, who should be ready to fill that role when Clifton's contract is up in a couple years. Overall I think Adams is doing a good job trying to position the team short term to be competitive, but also not bet big on role players who we have young players in the system who can fill those spots in a few years, so hopefully it pays off and they make the playoffs with Lindy captaining the ship with this group haha

  13. Pretty good analysis but a few things I liked to mention as a Sabres fan
Kulich has grown and is now listed as 6'1" by Rochester. Just looking at him you can see he's bigger than he was when he was drafted.
Benson is short but if you saw his Dad when the Sabres had their father/mentor trip you know he's going to fill out. His dad looks like a cross between a pitbull and a fire hydrant.
Helenius just put very good numbers as an 18 year old while playing against men in the Finnish elite league, which I think is more impressive than 20 year old Savoie dominating boys in the WHL.
Everyone wanted the Sabres to trade their 1st rd pick, and if they had traded that pick directly for McLeod and Malenstyn I think most Sabre fans would have been ok with that. That's basically what Adams did while swapping out Savoie for Helenius.

  14. Great vid, one of the few out there actually dug into the Sabres situation and didn't give a kneejerk reaction to the trade

  15. Matt wasn't making the team this year or next. And at least 3 guys are in front of him on the depth chart. They did him a favor as much as they did himself. He is an NHL player just not in Buffalo

  16. Helenius I have good feeling about, he did extremely well in the development tournament. But the real environment is going to be the true test when preseason begins into the start of the regular season and idk about McLeod young speedy forward but we’ll see what happens. I would have sort preferred Savoie stay but you can’t horde these prospects and not use some them so.. you get the next best injection into the roster

  17. Jokiharju is not good. Byram played awesome with Dahlin and then they broke them up for some unknown reason.

  18. Height doesn't matter. Jack Hughes is 5"11.

You have to play tough. Benson isn't big but he steals pucks and goes to the dirty spots.

  19. Great video, as sabres fan I dont understand why let skinner go, we didnt need to clear his cap this year, and he could have stayed on first line, most likely has bounce back year, like 22 when all were healthy and tore up the NHL. Peterka could have stayed on second line with cozens and quinn already proven lethal. we would have more depth with skinner, zucker and benson on 3rd line with mcleoud. Our sabres are stacked with talent its just when do they man up and win. Winning is mentality, confidence, as much or more then talent and physical strengths. What i see in my sabres is they beat anyone and everyone when it doesnt matter, when there is no pressure, under pressure they have not looked up, the mentality goes poor quick. I just hope these kids can mature and fulfill their potential.. talent wise there is no reason at all this team cant win the cup in some years, the talent is ridiculous. with the prospects we have coming up, all 4 lines would be lethal, and our D core is absolutely solid, with UPL AND Levi in net… if they stay healthy and mentally strong, i can see this team winning 2 cups with a decade of great playoff games.

  20. To be fair Thompson was injured all of last year. That really hurt his production.

  21. Savoie is weak on the puck. 10% chance he makes it. Shannon should address that the Sabres cant add quality in FA or trades because Buffalo cant attract guys. The drought has created a terrible situation they cant climb out of.

  22. amazing they had 84 points this season, they were horrendous everytime i watched them, even when they won.

  23. Year after year they drafted undersized forwards and now they may be realizing how badly they screwed up. Who's fault? Kevyn Adams and Jerry Forton (who just got promoted for some reason)

  24. Im still amazed we re-signed joki at 3mil. Hes actully awful lmao. That spot would have been great to slide johnson in as a full time player. Id only except joki if it was 2mil or less on a 2 way contract focusing him in the ahl
