Macklin Celebrini a signé un contrat d’entrée de trois ans avec les Sharks de San Jose samedi. Les conditions financières n’ont pas été divulguées. Le centre de 18 ans, qui a été sélectionné par les Sharks avec le premier choix du repêchage de la LNH 2024, ne savait pas s’il allait devenir professionnel ou retourner à l’Université de Boston cet automne. « Macklin n’est pas seulement un joueur spécial sur la glace, mais c’est aussi un jeune homme posé, confiant et intelligent en dehors de la glace », a déclaré le directeur général des Sharks, Mike Grier. « Sa combinaison de compétences et de sens du hockey est rare, et nous sommes extrêmement confiants qu’il soit prêt à faire la transition pour devenir un joueur à temps plein de la LNH. Nous ne pourrions pas être plus heureux d’avoir Macklin engagé pour rejoindre officiellement l’organisation des Sharks pour la saison 2024-25. » Celebrini a déclaré qu’il avait apprécié l’expérience du repêchage et qu’il avait appris à connaître certains de ses nouveaux coéquipiers à San Jose. « C’est bien, c’est amusant », a-t-il dit. « Le processus a été long tout au long du repêchage et tout ça, mais c’est maintenant que tout le plaisir commence. I really hope they trade for a goalie. I think Askarov would be great, maybe trade Ferraro and Bordeleau for Askarov!

Sharks finally in the midst of rebuilding into a great entertaining team, similar to the one that played in the Shark Tank from 2006-2019. Probably another year or two away from being a playoff contender, but looking forward to the day I renew my NHLTV subscription.
