What is enormously funny is that ALL they had to do WAIT and only get better with the draft after they had their core group.

Imagine telling Leaf fans in 2017 after their 4-2 series loss to Washington that you’d only have ONE solitary game win in the 2nd round to show for the next 8 years.
that all their stars would take management to the cleaners, give up absolutely nothing, and utterly disappear year after year in the playoffs, all the while taking up half the team’s cap
That the Canes would draft Seth Jarvis with the pick they GAVE UP just to escape one year of Marleau’s contract
That they’d lose Kadri for basically nothing, acquire and immediately lose Jared McCann for nothing just so they can keep JUSTIN FREAKING HOLL, and that they’d bleed picks for Nick Foligno with a busted back
Never mind how hilarious each choke job in the playoffs actually was – just the roster moves alone would be enough to having people leaping from their overpriced condo balconies
I love it that their lowest moment in recent memory was caused by our beloved Habs. If it were pretty much any other team, I would feel sorry for them but fuck the leafs and their fans. The fact that they still claim to be the center of the hockey universe will still putting this trash on the ice is cause enough for this much despair.
Would love to see the Amazon stats on the last episode of that series vs the others.. cause I’ve only watched the final episode… Like 10 times 🙂
Hope they never get past round 1 again and we sweep them next time
