I’d put Nashville below us but if the two new guys pop off I could see it. I think theyll both fall off without Kuch or Stone though
I think realistically we’re no higher than 6th at best (better than Bruins and Preds) but it’s not a horrible ranking.
Actually pretty fair assessment. I think we’re perfectly where we are and the teams above us deserve that *on paper*. Nashville did improve a lot through free agency. Their team was already defensively stingy and was 1 lucky bounce away from a 2-2 series tie with us instead of being down 1-3. The term of the contract for Stamkos might not look good, but I doubt there will be much drop-off this coming season and he likely finishes with 80+ points. So now you add proven offense in Marchy and Stamkos along with Skjei and Carrier and it looks like a top 7 team for sure.
I kinda liked it when we were the underdogs. No more element of surprise I guess…

They upgraded their already deep defense with Pesce, and fixed their biggest hole last year by getting Markstrom.
