Kasper next and I don’t think it’s very close, honestly. Augustine would be my guess for 5th. After that, I think we’ve left our 1st tier prospect pool and gotten into our tier of very very good.

To me this is where things start to get difficult. I think the first three prospects were easy because they are a cut or two above the rest. For number 4 I can convince myself to go a few different directions. I went with Kasper because I think his floor is certain NHLer. I think there are options with more upside, though.

Voted MBN last round. Going with him until he is gone as he has the highest upside, but still a secure floor, IMO.

    I think Kasper/Augustine are the next 2

Then we can start talking MBN

I get that he gets the shiny new toy hype, but man do we have some guys whose mix of production and projection are better

Kasper was a better prospect at the time he was drafted, plays center and while I still question his ultimate offensive upside he still produced in the SHL in his draft year, something MBN hadn’t done

Then Augustine, anytime a teenager makes a WC roster for a major hockey country (not just out of necessity) and plays meaningful games then you know you have someone special

Kasper and MBN are close for me, but Kasper being a C and much closer to the NHL gives him a slight edge. Kinda think his all-around game will be a bit more valuable than MBN from the wing. Wouldn’t be upset if MBN takes it though.

At this point I’m voting for Kasper purely because he is the prospect I want to blow past his perceived ceiling the most. A skilled, fast and physical scoring forward that forechecks like hell, plays defensively responsible and fiddles his fingers into the befuddled faces of his opponents in scrums? Sign me up.

I voted MBN last time, but thought Cossa and Kasper were close. I’m fine with Cossa at #3 (I find it hard to rank goalies and project them, so I would have voted for him later).

Maybe I’m buying into shiny new toy hype, but I think MBN has a higher ceiling, so I’ll vote for him again, but wouldn’t disagree if the majority picks Kasper.
