Strap in boys it’s going to be a rough year

  2. weeping-flowers

    No💔

Pretty please. No. I can lose Necas but this one would break my heart into pieces.

We all liked his skill level, his goals in the playoffs and his shootouts goals. But I dont think RBA was a big fan of him at the end. He didn’t like his working effort and he was slow… thats why he was an healthy scratch or on the 4th line.

  4. Bennett_19

Huh… I guess that does open up an extra 4 mil

Wait, this is different than a buyout, right? We don’t pay any fees/cap hit in the future?

  5. Well, that’s a shame. Thankfully I didn’t have too long to get attached, but I was really starting to.

Interesting. For me I much prefer to move KK to free up cap space than losing Kuzy. Like the player and his offensive upside, but also can acknowledge there’s a struggle to fit in the systems and aside from a small sample of Turbo-Kuzy-Necas it was hard to have 92 in the top 6 without bleeding chances.

We don’t have much of a second line currently. I feel like raw talent and offense wise he’s closer than Dury or KK to fitting the bill, but I also think this year is a step back for the team regardless. I want a good 2C who’ll help us to get the most out of Necas, but there’s a lot to juggle in terms of being trustworthy enough to get big minutes from Rod.

Idk. I think this is a team that is going to have to fight to get a playoff spot, and I don’t view them in the same way as I did the past 2 years as a legit contender

Our center depth is now Aho, Staal, and two question marks. That’ll make it difficult, but maybe this means they’ll be making a deal to Drury pretty soon.

Edit: forgot Roslovic is a center too

  8. bearwhidrive

He was fun, but there were a few spots in the playoffs where he just didn’t have it. They were obscured by some highlights for sure, but there were some glaring lowlights as well.

Thought it might be worth seeing how he’d do with a full season, but I guess that’s why I don’t make decisions for this team.

Wish him the best, I wonder if he is having issues with relapse or something similar and it’s a mutual agreement to part ways.

  10. adsheppa

Damn. Really wanted to get my jersey of his signed this fall…..

This was probably necessary to lock Jarvis up long term. We had like 13.5 million to sign all of drury necas and jarvy. Necas is probably going to get like 6.5 in arbitration and drury is probably going to come in at like 2. Jarvis wasn’t going to sign long term for less than the 7.5 we gave svech, this frees up that money and gives us a little more room to play with

I thought this said kochetkov at a glance and became upset.

    I can swallow this

Welcome to the Carolina Hurricanes, Leon Draisaitl!

  14. Winring86

If this is true we are about to get $4M in cap space which is going to give us total flexibility with Necas, Jarvis, and Drury. I like it

Also frees up some space for a younger guy to fill a spot, which is a plus for me. This year was never going to be our year IMO, it’s about building for next year when Nikishin comes over

I didn’t see a whole lot from him that I loved. He kinda disappeared. IDK. no huge loss

    🙁

    This makes me very sad.

I know he wasn’t with us for a long time, but I really loved him, and seeing him play for us always put a smile on my face.

Sweet Kuzy, I’m wishing him the best with all my heart.

  17. notyomamasusername

I wish we kept Kuzy and bought out KK.

This off-season is starting to make me worry

  18. Cold_Ad8552

Doomers out in force I see.

Like chill. Dude is a borderline player who was with us for what? 20 games? It’s not the end of the world that he’s leaving.

  19. RIPIGMEMES

Absolutely massive. I like this move but kinda feel skimped of a 3rd round pick. This opens up about $4m. I think we can keep both Jarvis and necas and maybe get another piece as well. LET TULSKY COOK

  20. gumshoeismygod

I loved watching him in a Canes uniform. Being in PNC for his first goal as a Cane was special. And that penalty shot masterpiece was a moment I won’t soon forget. Thanks for the memories Kuzy

  21. iObscurity

I really liked how it ignited Orlov under a new level when we first acquired Kuzy.

  22. SnowCrabbo

I know it frees up good money but I’m wondering how this is going to affect Orlov. Dude was really fighting for us to pick up Kuzy and Orlov seemed to play a lot better once we picked him up. Hoping this was a decision Kuzy made and we are just letting happen for both parties and there is nothing souring the relationship between all involved

  23. Mads0995

Honestly, I’m so happy for him!! With everything he had been through, this will be such a good thing for him! He deserves to be happy, and I wish him all the best!!

    давай Кузы!! 🫶🏻 ❤️

  24. bigskycaniac

Boys, you don’t all have to leave us. 🙁

  25. ripinpeace12

Lame but wish him luck. I liked the flashes of brilliance from him.

  26. Canes12345678

Package Necas and Drury for a true center. Because Drury is for sure not that 2C answer
