  1. Congratulations!!! Been a fan of yours for a long time. Used to see you a lot at Melon Arena. I’m a 73 yr old woman and we’re both a bit grayer now. Thanks for the incredible backstories. Well done.

  3. What a great accomplishment DK, congratulations! I would've loved to find out earlier about your podcast, but since the first time I've tuned in you've become a part of my daily routine. It's always a pleasure to listen to you.

  4. I remember this program's (in my mind) predecessor, the morning java's. I will never forget watching them during the Penguins cup runs.

  5. That's AWESOME DK. A big congrats to you and the staff. I listen to you Mon-Fri faithfully. I wish you and all at DK Sports continued success.

  6. No thank you DK, thank you for all u done, love your show. It's hard in Canada to get information on the penguins. Keep up the good work. ❤

  9. I'd sign him to one year deals only. Give him 10m annually. You can't risk paying someone at that age a long term deal. We've already seen Malkin start to fall off and I suspect it will be worse this season. His game is going to fall off eventually. That would then give him and the Pens the best chance to trade him to a team that actually has a chance to win. I don't care how good the player is, teams don't win with players this old.

  10. Tom Brady didn’t have to lead the league so in a salary cap world you can see Sid wanting to win more than get paid. You can pay him with little effect on the cap. 8 years, $7 million average. Front load the cash as much as is allowed. Retires earlier than that? He made more than $7 million a year. Wants to play it out? Well, at ~44, I think he’ll be glad to pull in like $3 million in cash IF he is still playing at some capacity.

  11. I actually think in a weird way Crosby's $8.7M discount backfired in the last 4-5 years. Imagine if they had a 2-3 million left and couldn't … extend Carter or include Sceviour on the Matheson trade or sign Acciari to $2M AAV or take on Hayes contract or etc, etc., etc.

They would have been forced into drafting, developing and playing at least a few more players on ELC's under $1M AAV … and while there is no way in knowing that would've been better, but it certainly couldn't have been worse in terms of the bottom 6.

  12. Do you think Sid could be doing a dis-service to himself as an extremely competitive hockey player by not chasing a cup elsewhere? I hope he's not sticking around because he feels obligated. He owes us nothing. I just want him to go out on top these last few years. I hope he feels he's doing that during his final contract. I'd love to see him win another one in Pttsburgh, but I'm a realist, and I just feel like he'd be sticking around for reasons less competitive than Cup aspirations. Either way, I hope he has no regrets when he hangs up his skates. He deserves everything the game can still offer him. It's time the game repays him for all he's done and not the other way around.
