Crazy value for a 6th round pick to be in our top 10 prospects.
I won’t pretend to have known his name before the draft but the more I hear (and see clips) about him the more baffled I am that he dropped to the sixth round
Every single report I’ve seen has said that he has an elite offensive hockey IQ with a great shot and strong playmaking. His draft+1 numbers are what you would expect from an early first round pick. He has pro size and clearly has progressed his game. His biggest knocks seem to be his skating isn’t anything special, he’s not very physical, and he needs defensive work. All of which seem relatively minor compared to the offensive upside.
Obviously I don’t know more than NHL scouts but if anyone has the potential for the rest of the league to be like ‘how the fuck did he miss this guy’ in a few years from now, it’s him.
If you go undrafted in your draft year it’s kinda like you’re looking at deli meat in the fridge a week past its expiration date. Might be okay, might be awful. More than 32 scouts have seen something they didn’t like almost twice.

He’s gonna be part of the team 3-5 years from now and will be part of the NEW core. 😤
So are we expecting to see him play for the main team in a few years?
