The taxes are sky high but it’s always nice to get 35% of that back because you’re getting paid in american money and the canadian dollar is average as it can be.

Half the country can barely afford rent and groceries every month and he’s crying about making what somewhere around 20 to 30k a month? Cry me a fucking river dude.

For the Salary Cap to be fair, and enable high taxed cities to survive long term, you have to have a Cap with Local Tax considerations. The City of Montreal, or the City even the City of Detroit, but truly most of the league, should not be at a disadvantage because a few reckless southern cities don’t tax rich people.

FYI at league minimum salary (750,000$) the actual average tax rate is more like 49%. Still a lot but not 54%, that’s the highest marginal tax rate (53.3% actually)

    **Comparisons**

Florida/Tennessee/Texas/Washington: 31% (no state income tax at all)

    Missouri: 36%

    New York: 37.5%

    California: 41%

    Alberta: 43%

    BC: 47%

    Ontario: 48%
