The fans make the team, Aquillini. Never forget this.
As a university student it is so infuriating how expensive nucks tickets are. People like myself and my friends are who want to watch and who should be in the building not corporate snobs and rich snobby families who don't like any noise. Thank God the whitecaps tickets are still relatively cheap just hope the atmosphere keeps getting better.
Quiet like a Leafs game. Put suits in the seats who dont care. They'll see
3 players yet to get to arbitration. Marchenko , Lindgren, and Necas.
Mixed on the whole Canucks situation…yeah, it’s understandable for prices to go up especially how last season went, but not only are you pricing out families, but like you said, it does negate the home rink advantage to an extent. At least you’ve got the AHL affiliate close by to support.
Are you going to talk about Jeff Marek getting let go?
Always depressing to see the price of Leafs tickets and yet half the seats are empty by the second period.
Hey Shannon, what team you think would be a good fit for for laine ?
Good for Shannon. Prices are crazy and not worth it.
When I saw that on the board when the video began, I just knew this was going to be Gold.
I go to a couple of Lightning games a year. I prefer sitting in the upper section at center ice across from the team benches. These are almost always resale tickets and as you get closer to the game, if the tickets have not sold, they tend to go down in price. I usually end up getting tickets for around $65 or so per.
That's pretty much my max. There is no way I am going to spend over $100 a ticket to go see a game. If you are a family of 4 taking the kids out for dinner before or arena food and merch, that's easily approaching $1000 for a night out.
They say B.C. Stands for “Bring Cash”
I dont think they realize they have priced out the fans who buy the most beer
Is it me or do a number of players need “fresh starts” from teams like Columbus?
Vancouver will sell out and have empty seats, Same in Toronto (Corporate Sales). And those that do attend will be fully focused on their PHONES. Soon a lot of games will resemble the Covid era.
No attentive fans present. This will not help the game.
Canucks priced me out too last couple years ive been able to go to 2-3 games a year. Next year i might go to 1, if any at all…
Seriously?? The lowly Canucks are trying to match the prices of Canada's Team???? Utter nonsense.
Crazy prices. Time to watch some Lions games. The CFL Guy 🙂
So what games are you going to this year? Hockey guy :"I would like to stay home with the… wife."
Do most Vancouverites make that kind of money to pay $300-500 for two tix just to see the Canucks play ONE game…? How do our tix prices compare to other Canadian teams like the Leafs and Oilers?
Come home, baby boy <3
Lol cleared to return for two weeks until he inevitably gets injured again
It'll be cheaper to pay for a Kraken ticket and gas and then drive down to Seattle to watch an away game there. Looks like the only game I'll be able to go to is on their Buffalo road trip
wow i am a long time viewer never heard the hockey guy so choked! good for you guy on making a stand hockey is getting so greedy after jeff marek canned from sportnet i'm done with them as well as the tsn (toronto sports network) i'll get my hockey fix here and other podcasts and will be watching nhl on my "grey market' streaming piss on all the greed!
One of the best ways to grow the game is introducing new people to the sport though an in person game which is almost always a great experience. Increasing ticket prices to this extent removes a significant amount of those people and hurts the growth of the game.
24/25 will be my 10th hockey season in Vancouver and will be the first time I won't (can't) go to any games. Made it to a few last season in the $60-$90 range and this year cannot find any games under $120. They only made it to the 2nd round last year, they didn't win the Cup, so an increase this steep is uncalled for.
Hey Shannon,
I've been a season ticket holder for the past 5 years and the upcoming season will be number 6…
As for your comments for the ticket prices, I agree with your comments but my personal experience when buying extra tickets is a bit easier during the season itself.
Like myself, many other season tickets holders will sell certain games slightly under the face value of the ticket the week leading up to the event. I would strongly suggest keeping an eye out for tickets during Nov/Dec as they could sell off pack deals for families.
If you ever need tickets at a lower price, I could always try contacting my rep…
Sincerly,
Munish 😉
It’s crazy how much ticket prices vary between teams. I went to a Panthers game in April and sat lower bowl, 6 rows back of the penalty box for $80 (NOT a resale ticket). Two days later, go to a Lightning game and $80 would only get the cheapest (non-resale) upper bowl seat. Meanwhile, here in Vegas, the cheapest upper bowl seat is three figures.
I had a dream Laine was traded to FLA
Now the only way I can go to a game in Vancouver is if they have College Game Day (when the college/university students get big discounts on a game, which only happens once a season) or if I somehow win another giveaway (went to the game late March vs LA because of it).
What surprises me is the Canucks not giving Shannon a couple of tickets to a game. You would think the team would want to engender some goodwill in the hockey community by ensuring The Hockey Guy gets to go to a game.
If I were in charge of the Kraken in would have tickets in the mail already.
Watching my team play in the swedish elite league cost me 12usd and it's a 10min walk from where I live, I'm lucky. Then again I'm watching Elias Pettersson's brother play and not Elias. So it should be cheaper. Go Eagles.
Have you thought about getting quarter season tickets? I feel like they’re a little more reasonable
I’ve always thought Laine had a majestic pair of chompers.
Come on, man. How is Quinn Hughes supposed to buy his 3rd mansion, if you guys don't buy stupidly priced tickets? Geeez, won't anyone think of the multi-millionaire athletes out there, who are barely making ends meet?
