Please don’t drink and drive. Ever. Even if it’s one drink, even if you feel fine, even if it’s 500 feet down the road, either get an Uber or let someone else drive your car for you. If you are with someone who has been drinking, don’t let them drive. It’s a hard thing to do, but it’s also the best thing you can do.
The Gaudreau family is suffering today, and my heart goes out to them. What should have been one of the best days for the family will forever be tainted because someone made a horrible decision. He didn’t set out to kill anyone yesterday, but it happened. Please learn from his mistake.

Roughly a decade ago I was living for a bit in California, just outside of LA.
A friend and I were cycling on this side road that didn’t have much traffic. All of a sudden we see this very large plume of dust get kicked up the road. A car had driven into a ditch (roughly 8’ deep) and was on its side. I called the cops while my friend spoke with the driver to check on him.
Cops and fire truck showed up. We found out when he was pulled out that he was super drunk.
I still worry about what could have happened if I were a little further down the road.
Be careful out there.

What a massive slap in the face this must have felt like to the Gaudreau family. So many lives in absolute tatters. This is going to take a long long time to heal. It’s unbearable pain. If God is out there somewhere, this family is going to need you BIG TIME Bud. Please be there for them. I wish them all a miraculous healing. RIP Johnny and Matthew.

Today/last night has felt like one gigantic, cruel fever dream. I hope everyone’s taking care of themselves, this news has been overwhelming.
