Gotta be between Niedermayer and Bratt right? Am I forgetting anyone?

Niedermayer

Straight line speed? Miles Wood
JimmyFeetWorld
Probably should be Grabner, but he already got well his deserved superlative.
Let’s go with #27.
Randy_McKay
Rolston was one of the fastest in our team back in the day.
Otherwise, it could be Niedermayer or Hall..
shmula78
Miles wood. Fast and reckless
MaxximusSDS
Probably niedermayer, but woods was pretty fast… Nieds just make it look effortless like he wasn’t even trying
wwesgu
I was going to decide between Nico and Niedermeyer. Niedermeyer is 1A for me.
All_the_dinohorses
Gusev, he was fastest to being obsolete.
msbdrummer
Isn’t Hughes the fastest?
radametz
Luke Hughes has shown some ridiculous speed this past year, gotta think if this poll happens in 3-4 years he’d probably have it.
Otherwise I’d say Miles Wood or Niedermayer
SomethingFoul
Niedermeyer actually won the fastest skater event at the All Star Skills Comp in 98. I don’t think there’s even a contest.
Soggy-Firefighter371
Nieder. Even if woods may have potentially been faster straight line, he couldn’t do anything with it. Niedermayer was blazing 200 ft coast to coast, weaving and making it look effortless. Woods would burn in line to take a penalty and/or miss the net.

Wood/Rolston/Gionta?
All fast as hell, no?
But there also Jack Hughes’ speed which is insane.
parkhurstcards
Wood because of he would be the fastest. But, if Niedermayer had today’s skates I would say era adjusted he’s the fastest.
mustachiolong
If we’re going pure speed it’s Wood. If we’re going by fastest but actually doing something with that speed? Niedermayer.
PeppiPanini
Niedermayer, and he made it look effortless. 2x fastest skater champion at the 1998 and 2004 all-star super skills. Next category.
fartswhenhappy
Scotty Nieds. Dude could seemingly cover 200 ft in two effortless strides.
We’ve seen some great wheels as Devils fans. Jack, Bratter, and Kovy come to mind. But Nieds was in another league IMO.
Mr7three2
Fastest. Miles Wood. Definitely not the best skater but he was fast
AxiomDJ
Grabner no?
SIIB-ZERO
This question seems to focus on speed not skating ability……In a straight line end to end I’d have to say Miles Wood beats Neidermayer but barely.
turbopro25
Niedermayer all day.
Effinehright
John Madden was so fast in his younger days he might be the guy to push 27
njpg
Miles Wood. He might crash on the way, but I miss seeing him shot out of a canon
PWiz30
Miles Wood (note: the title says fastest skater, not best)
AlpineSK
Chris Terreri. I used to hear that he’d smoke everyone when his pads were off.

Niedermayer had impeccable form and is the clear choice. Honorable mention : Tom Chorske, Miles Wood

Hate to say it but Grabner without any doubt, funny if he ends up „winning“ two categories 😀
