  1. Oilers are taking a page out of the Maplelaughs playbook. Wtg 😂😂😂😂😂😂 who needs a top 4 when you can have a top 2 😅😂😅😮. Joking aside. Last chance Oil 2025 then your done like team Matthews . But hey it will be OK then . 82 games is what you really want to play for.

  2. Alright I am wrong but at the same time I knew but not surprised Leon Draisaitl signed at 14 million for 8 years, great deal I thought 12 to 13 but that's OK.. he's an Oiler for life and now McDavid probably will get 16.5 and Bouchard 9 or 10 million dollars that's still under the projected amount on one of the source I look at and it's seems like It might be right to sign all three that's under 49 million but if it goes depends on Bouchard that's still under 40 million to there 100 million good job Oilers can't wait for this season to come and have 7 players to be over 30+ goal scorers

  3. If Mcdavid skips town and somehow doesn't extend with the Oilers, Draisitls numbers are going to look like a 5-6mil dollar player

  4. Leon is better than mcd in playoffs, facts . And with Mathew’s never scoring a meaningful goal in his nhl career sounds like a deal to me

  5. Seeing that the cap goes up to 92 million next year most likely, then 94 or 96 million the following year, this really is a good contract you locked Draisaitl as the cap keeps rising for 8 years, only issue is that Mcdavid gets 16 or 17 million, Bouchard gets 9.5-10 million then between three guys you got around 40 million invested in them. Even if the cap is at 96 million it leaves you 56 million for the rest of your roster, so the window to win is right now.

  6. Overpay but they locked a great player long-term. I was tempted to compare with the Leafs at first, but then you realize this player actually accomplished a lot before getting that contract. It will be ok if the cap rises.

  7. what a ridiculous contract lol

this guy hasn't won a god damn thing and is making 14 and what was all that about taking a discount ? 😂

  8. What a joke
Does nothing without McDavid and make him highest paid player in the league
Better open the vault for McDavid which will leave you left with scraps to pay the rest of your team

  9. This will be the year his production falls off a cliff….LMAO. These contracts are INSANE !

  10. I'm sorry to inform you, its great for Draisaitl to get his new contract with the huge s.b., but Matthews' s.b. is still higher, ever so slightly.

  11. $8 yr/ $112M -> $14M per year.
McJesus will get more than that.
Wow, Edmonton will need luck in the draft and good older vets to win the Cup now.

  12. I don't think Draisaitl took any kind of discount. This was probably in range of the highest bidders out there. He showed his team that he's there to make money and he did that. Let's see who follows his example.

  13. He says "Is it a little of an overpay, sure!" after just stating that Draisaitl could fetch 15+ million elsewhere. Make up your mind Lego eater.

  14. 14 mill is nothing for a pro athlete . Maybe some of these joker's commenting should take a discount on whatever it is that you do . The guy has spent his entire life honing his craft to get to this point , he's a bonnified , marketable star who puts asses in seats . Worth every nickel

  15. They gotta get bouch done asap and than mcdavid and stewie next year but i honestly think we gotta get Nurse off The books and stay away from anything long term For To much money with anyone else. They could even look at trading skinner if rodrigue takes a step And have vinnie develop For future

  16. $14M cap hit for a 36 year old 💀💀 Let’s hope the cap continues to climb at its current rate after the next CBA.

  17. They are going to have 4 players making about 50 million 🤣 at least nurse is a stud 👍🏻

  18. overpay just overpay paying a guy who only like what scores on pp because of mcdavid 10-11 mil would be okay but 14 mil? say good bye to mcdavid in few years after this drop they just become that leafs wannabe

  19. Change in cap?—-how about a change in cap, each team would have a chance to designate a player as their franchise player and would not be part of cap. Must be drafted by the team, as long as he’s still playing regardless of a trade it would apply to that team, until he retires permanently . Time would be nothing , would be when ever the team choose to do so. Kick it around, looking for constructive criticism.

  20. I feel like we now call everything a steal unless it’s an out right overpayment. 14M for Drai is not a steal. It’s a justified salary for what he does on the ice. 8.5M for him, that is a steal.. he’s still on that contract for another year, don’t forget that
