The Canucks are still bottom third in the league, when it comes to their prospect pool, which is kind of wrong for a team that has missed the playoffs for as many years as they have. The new management regime has done a lot to address drafting and development on the fly: changing the coaching on the farm team (so the Canucks can depend on development to happen beyond Sweden and the US College systems), scooping up some late stage prospects in trades that have a much shorter runway to make the big league and might not make it ("they're basically like 1st round draft picks"), make targeted draft selections to address needs on the back end, and sign some US College free agents, while still trading away a lot of draft picks to compete now.
Drance is a tool and more of a TMZ reporter than an actual sports reporter. Can’t stand the guy.
