This fella. Forsberg was the goat (That was me meeting him at a practice long long ago.)

Sakic and Foppa are the obvious answers, but don’t sleep on MacKinnon, Landeskog, and Rantanen here either. I’m not saying this generation is better or worse, but I’m saying I’m not living in so deep in the past I can’t enjoy the present at the same time.

I vote for foresberg, I have a Quebec jersey that is foresberg
TheHizobane
Forsberg 100%. He’s the reason I’m an avs fan, could absolutely take over a game and we can only dream of the Foppa we would have had if he didn’t have the ankle problems he had.
Nightgasm
Sakic. When Forsberg lost his spleen and couldn’t continue in the playoffs Sakic carried the team to the Cup.

I’m going with MacKinnon. I just love watching him play with passion every game.

Forsberg of no repeat. Sakic if repeat

I will always say Peter Forsberg. I know 19 and 29 are in the mix, but Foppa was a force of nature when he was out there. Plus he literally gave his spleen for the team.
McMetal770
At their BEST, Forsberg > Sakic. Nobody could take over a game by sheer brute force of will like Foppa. I think overall in their careers, Sakic has the upper hand because of his consistency and longevity, but if we’re not doing repeats, then the only guy you could really make a good case for is Forsberg.

I’d say Sakic due to sheer consistency, though Forsberg had higher highs. It’s just hard to argue against someone who holds most of the significant franchise offensive records, was top 10 all time in NHL history in points when he retired, and still has the most playoff OT goals and points in history.
Also, shouldn’t the straight up best player according to this poll series also automatically best at his position?

Peter Forsberg! Fun fact, he was at Ball Arena the day I attended my first ever Avs game!

Are repeats allowed? If not I’d say Forsberg
Sakic if repeats are allowed, Foppa if not.
Forsberg
Sakic 1, Peter 2, Nate 3
Hejduk has to be mentioned
Well if Sakic is best overall, I’mma let you logic this one through.
No repeats, Forsberg. Hands down.
Forsberg is the sexy pick here
Forsberg
FOPPA if no repeats are allowed
Peter the Great.
Forsberg. Great player that understood the role and executed well.
Forsberg was my « best » pick so still going with Forsberg with best forward.
Repeats should be allowed, or else it doesn’t make sense. By default, since he was voted the best, Sakic is the best forward.
This might change by the end of MacK’s career.
Foppa baby
I am a huge Avs fan but this chart doesn’t feel good. Calling out the slowest, etc. wtf??? Nah
I mean, if we’re not allowing repeats who are you gonna pick for best handles? No way there was any competition for Foppa in that category.
Sakic
Forsberg
Forsberg.
Forsberg. Even if repeats are allowed, if I had to choose one Avs player to will the team to victory, it would be Forsberg.
Sakic would obviously be very close behind, but Forsberg’s physicality gave him another aspect to his game that Sakic couldn’t match.
Jokic won at least two categories in the nuggets sub, so repeats should be allowed. Super Joe!
Foppa
Foppa
Forsberg is the definition of power forward
Forsberg for my money purely talent wise was a step ahead of even Joe. So he gets my vote.
Peter the Great.
Forsberg.
If he stayed healthy, he’s 4th all time in era adjusted points per game.
Many are saying Forsberg if no repeats, but if that’s the case I think he goes to Best Handles and you give this one to Hejduk.
Forsberg!!!
Forsberg all day every day
Forsberg
