They’ll stay. The Leafs won’t change the core 4. TSN and Sportsnet will be revving up the hype train declaring this to be the Leafs year. Matthews and Marner will put up crazy points in the regular season. Then they will go out in the first round. Wash, rinse, repeat.

This is good news because it ensures the Leafs keep losing. Tavares especially is not worth his contract. Marner is great… outside of the playoffs.

God I hope so. Just means we get to watch the Leafs floater in the playoffs again, but I mean I’d much rather them not make the playoffs in general so I’m torn

Talk is cheap. Let’s see what sort of discount they’re willing to take to get their hopes fulfilled.

I mean it’s a pretty sweet deal, high contracts and you’re out golfing by mid-may.

The Habs are gonna kick your ass this year.

Man I wonder if agents are a strong push for keeping overvalued contracts- no doubt these guys are prime, but between the two of them they drain 20-25% of the teams cap. That’s INSANE – will most players not ever want to go down a bit to up their chances of a stacked team, or do you think agents are pushing them for more so they get a nicer chunk out of their percentage?
