So, are we going to not use a goalie and play 1-4-1?

The only time the 1-3-1 should be used is against Vancouver because they love it sooo much

Excited to see the boys forecheck and puck hunt more.

I’m almost certain what he means is as their primary defensive formation. They probably will use it but not nearly as much. As much shit as it gets it is useful in certain situations. I can see them using is sparingly and then people lose their shit.

Thank fuck for that! Lets see someone break the 90-pt mark again, preferably multiple people

I know I’m ready for a different approach.

It will be very interesting how this season unfolds in that Jim Hiller had part of last lesson, the entire off season and now training camp to instill his vision and style of play.

We also start the season with a lengthy road trip which I’m hopeful gets this team to bond and get on the same page fast.

I believe this a playoff team but not the least bit convinced the Kings are a SC contending team, but I’d love to be proven wrong.

Like any fan should give a shit about the 1-3-1….i mean it’s only provided us three straight 100 point seasons, OHHHH NOOOO!! Problem was they couldn’t adjust for EDM….or just maybe EDM was a better team?

That’s good. Parking the Bus with the 1-3-1 is good for maintaining a lead but it’s not proactive and doesn’t really play to the strengths of this offensively based team tbh

Am I the only one concerned about how the NZ/D coverage is going to look without the 1-3-1? I have a bad feeling the wheels might come off and the Kings look lost defensively.

DJ Smith being our new D coach doesn’t strike much confidence given his track record. After all we’ve been a 98-100 point team for 3 years running the prior system.

This whole thing has been blown so out of proportion

I mean I’m down for anything but I’m really down for this.

Part of me is happy because it should be a more uptempo version of hockey.

Part of me is sad because I really enjoyed how the 1-3-1 triggered other fanbases.

Can camp viewers confirm this? I hope it’s true but it seems like the roster decisions and training notes say otherwise

They playing 1-2-2 in camp. They were running 1-2-2 and 2-1-2 at the rookie faceoff. Hopefully they dont give up playing defensive hockey all together.
