@Blackhawks de Chicago

1. Nick Folingo has shown himself time and time again, both on and off the ice, that he is the right choice to be the Blackhawks captain.

  2. If you watched the Hawks last season – and I did with the exception of 3-4 games – this is absolutely the right move. Foligno was a stud, blue collar player and an outstanding leader. He and Dickinson have selflessly stepped up to provide leadership and mentoring. Let Bedard have a year or two more to keep getting better and then it’s all his. Love the move.

  3. I definitely think it’s the right call. Bedard is under enough pressure and scrutiny as is. If he focuses on playing and improving his game, he’s gonna be one of the best of all time.

  4. I love it when teams do this. Gives it to someone who's a clear leader and doesn't just give it their best player. Winnipeg is another good example of that

  5. Ah yes, the Hoffman-Kulak connection. Good for at least -25 each at 4th line and 3rd pair minutes

  6. For some reason I thought he was already the Captain. Talked to my dad who is a hawks fan and he thought Foligno was already captain too lol

  7. Idk. To me, your captain should probably have the ability to make the majority of rosters in the NHL.

    Foligno might be able to make the Sharks and Blue Jackets… But could he make anyone else at this stage of his career? Probably not.

  8. This is exactly why I liked the Foligno move from the beginning. His was always going to be a leadership role for the young guns, so I'm glad they made it official. Feeling very good about the future of this team!

  9. Good move by the Blackhawks. Too many people are in the odd mentality that the Captaincy should automatically go to the most skilled player. That is absolutely the wrong way to do it. Leadership is about mentality, attitude, and character. Of course, the Captain needs to be skilled enough to lead by example, but giving the C just because a guy is highly talented is missing the point. This way, Bedard gets a chance to continue to mature and grow into himself, and he will get the C once he's ready.

  10. Folingo was a great mentor for Bedard last year, definitely the right move imo. Wishing Dakota Joshua a speedy recovery, fuck cancer

  11. IDK I'm not even going to recognize the Lightning. Hedman? He seems kind of Vanilla and he was really close to Stammer. Killorn is gone to Anaheim would have been in the running, Sergachev is gone;..( the great Mont'l steal. It's 2 cups anyway

  12. It's sad that the Toews/Kane era is over, but having Uncle Fliggy help us transition into the next era is making it a bit easier.
