Do you blame him though? We had people ON OUR STAFF say he was the worst captain of all time, while he was playing here. Dark days.

Can someone give me a tldr on why he’s so hated? I was pretty young when he was on the team.

It’s more the inconsistency with Pacioretty that piss me off at this point.

    >“When I first got to Vegas, it was weird that there was, like, no accountability,” said Pacioretty. “And I’m not talking about in the team; I’m talking about like ever. You couldn’t feel pressure coming off anyone else, from the coach to the management.”

In Montreal, he seemed not happy playing here…

    > »There just seems to be so much less pressure, and whether you admit it or not, you just go about your everyday life in such an easier manner that it really (takes) so much less of a toll on you, » he said. « Whether you’re a leader or a young guy, there’s no media here. Even if you don’t read the media in Montreal, you know what’s being said. »

So is accountability good or bad? I am not sure.

    And now

    >My Kids Say It’s The Best Jersey That I’ve Worn

which you know… I don’t really care, but does he have to say it???

He sounds like a nice guy, but not sure a player I would want to be on my team or as Captain. At least not my top pick. Good for us since we got Suzuki in return for him, that trade made Bergevin look like a genius.

Before the Chara hit he was an absolute force. He should’ve retired after that because he was a godawful hockey player after that hit.

Dude lost all his love for the game and completely stopped going to areas where he could possible be hit because he was afraid. Sure he put up points but it was just a job for him after that hit and he never showed the type of heart required to make a player good.

  6. He didnt sign with them as a ‘hot free agent’ it was PTO your options are limited, and if he wants a cup you go towards the people that need you and are a contender.

Maurice Richard se mettrait jamais ça sur le dos.

  8. BidetBlaster

If he was still relevant I would dislike him even more

  9. Slubber-Degullion

Maybe he is trying to pull a Plecky. /s

I have nothing against Patches, he just never should have been made captain. He didn’t want the spotlight or media pressure involved. We didn’t have a lot to choose from at the time and it sounds like the locker room was pretty shitty then (Subban for Weber trade). Can’t blame him if he doesn’t look back at that time fondly.

  11. Josh Gorges said he didn’t want to go to the Leafs.

  12. Pacioretty stuck his dick in crazy. It’s gona feel amazing for about 5 minutes, until the reality kicks in.

  13. We failed him as much as he failed us. Good on him still trying to pursue a career!

  14. hollandaisesawce

Don’t blame anyone for trying to keep making a living, or to keep playing in the league.

He’s been such a non-factor over the last 2-3 seasons that the most notable thing is a Leafs player wearing #67 which gives me a chuckle.
