Still waiting for all of that lineup experimentation that they were 100% totally planning to do

The top line looked really sharp last night. Any concerns about Hartman and Zuccarello should be shelved, because they got plenty of open looks against Hellebuyck early, were the fastest line and most competent offensive zone line on the ice by miles, and the PP was just money.

The Ohgren/Ek/Trenin line had some struggles in the first last night, but utterly destroyed Hellebuyck in the 2nd. I think Ohgren as the 2nd line option isn’t a bad one until Boldy comes back. Lauko’s earned his 4th line duties though. If it’s between Ohgren and Lauko, I’m leaning towards Lauko staying entrenched as 4th line. Ohgren’s going to get his shot. You just gotta wait for Mojo to be traded or let go. He’s got first dibs on a new roster spot.

Jones, Boyd, Shore, Clarke, and others give IA a lot better options as callups than last year. I can see them being next in line other than Ohgren. The only people I haven’t really been impressed by were Heidt and Peart. I think they are still lagging behind in development, and got exposed against better players.

I’d like to see Khus and Hartman swap, give that a go

  4. Makes sense as a lineup. The AHL squad should be solid this year, but I don’t see any glaring overlooks missing from the main lineup. And Jones absolutely earned his cup of tea to start the season while we wait for Boldy.

Confirmed we getting the Cup this year. It was always theoretical until now, “can an NHL team create the ultimate hockey player to send out alone, leaving their opponents naked and afraid” the Wild have turned theory into reality. Ladies and Gentleman, Ben Jones.

Who’s that Lauko guy on the 4th line? That’s the only guy I don’t recognize
