@Maple Leafs de Toronto

“Unsportsmanlike conduct” sure feels like an understatement

  2. TheLoomingMoon

That’s fair. After showing how soft he punches, no one is going to take him too serious now anyways.

  3. Svalbard38

Firstly fuck Parros, secondly I think if this happens towards the end of the game it’s a suspension, Xhekaj was pretty much suspended for a game by being ejected five minutes into the first.

  4. I used to think people were somewhat overreacting about parros & his anti leafs bias, but this is insane. Useless player « safety » dept needs an overhaul.

  5. SDAisaleaf

Parros wants Xhekaj playing game 1 so he can hopefully try to cause some injuries, he was never going to suspend him. If a Leaf did the same thing he’d be out of the league

  6. Remember when Spezza got suspended 6 games for retaliating when Pionk blew Sandin’s knee out? Pepperidge Farms remembers

  7. alex_cooper89

Not even a fake preseason suspension what a clown show

  8. Showtime98

That’s a joke, if a Leaf did this they would get 3+ games lol

  9. 1UP4UScoobydoo

Sets the tone for the season right? Right!

  10. dirtybird131

Jesus, he only got a fine for attempting to Todd Bertuzzi someone?

    Talk about French favouritism

  11. nutters85

More proof that the league isn’t serious about protecting players and their brains

  12. Fortuitous_Event

One standard for the Leafs, one standard for the rest of the league.

  13. Ridiculous. And the championing of Xhekaj’s retaliation on certain subs is disgusting. People should be ashamed of themselves. It’s an unfortunate play, but two wrongs don’t make a right.

New nhl25 feature. « Mortal Kombat mode »

    Geeze

Paros still pissed Orr ended his hockey career. Fuck Paros and fuck the Habs.

Edit: spelled Parros name wrong, but fuck him imma leave it.

  16. malabericus

I wonder if a another player did the same thing couldn’t they use this as precedent for punishment?

Kinda opens the door for a lot of wild stuff.

  17. Spider-Fan77

It’s so blatantly obvious that George Parros still holds a grudge against the Leafs after Colton Orr basically ended is career. Maybe hiring a goon who may very well have some form of CTE to run the Player Safety department wasn’t the best idea.

  18. They should give the fine money to Pare, goons might not care about losing $3385.42, but they won’t like it being given to their victim.

  19. As I mentioned on another thread, Xhakej (or whatever TF hi name is) has some serious « abusive boyfriend » vibes, and is now worse than Brad Marchand in my books. This guy is a menace to society, and should have been suspended like 10 games at least!

  20. Richard_Lycker

This whole thing was a shit show. Refs should have tossed Pare, because regardless of intent the hit was reckless and it would have kept a lid on this shit. Arber’s reaction was expected and I can’t believe Pare didn’t drop them and own up to his mistake.

The toss on Arber was then warranted and he probably should have got games, but so should Pare however he won’t be playing in the NHL so I guess this balances?

Lets just move past this and look forward to the inevitable bloodbath that will be game 1. I hope Laine is alright 🙁

  21. BiggityShwiggity

What happened to hockey? As a Leafs fan i’m embarrassed by the crying in here.

  22. GiveMeAdviceClowns

r/hockey still thinks Leafs organization told the AHL’er to target Laine

  23. BUROCRAT77

What a joke. Fuck this league. I’ll keep up to date via radio and here but I’m done

  24. TheCarrier89

They don’t even try to hide the anti leaf bias. Any other team and he would have gotten 5 games. I actually fucking hate this league

  25. Stevet159

If Reevo doesn’t gloved on sucker the next guy to hurt a Leaf player (unless it’s Robertson again) he should ride the AHL bus for another 2 years.

I’m not even mad, but it’s worth it. He’s supposed to be intimating, you can’t do that without recklessness, and 3k is nothing to him.

  26. elifreeze

Remember the three points DoPS made when they came down hard on Rielly?

    1. Retaliatory

    2. Not a hockey play

    3. Opponent not expecting it

All that criteria is present here yet for some reason it resulted in a paltry fine. What a clown show.

  27. Piccolo_11

Todd Bertuzzi did the same thing. I guess the fact that Pare wasn’t hurt (luckily) saved Xhekaj’s ass. What a joke.

  28. When are the Leafs going to pull a Rangers and call out Parros on his bs? Fucking ridiculous

  29. Guilty_Explanation29

What did he do? Did he attack pare after the accident hit

  30. mikeydavison

Thats an embarrassment. Par for the course for DOPS sadly.

  31. WellIGuessSoAndYou

Is there any other sport where the governing body has a bias against it’s most popular and profitable team? It’s actually insane to think about.

  32. So if Reavo dummies Wifi from behind, that’s only a $3500 fine?
