Reinbacher's fall looks a lot more serious since his whole weight dropped on the knee looks like most of this season is over.
Laine's hit wasn't full weight and suggests a bone bruise or slight tear of the meniscus which may take him out for about 6 weeks of season play.
Indeed, the Hockey Gods are demanding that a sacrifice be given them in return for a reasonably safe passage during this regular season.
I hope the hockey club are using a fMRI (functional) MRI which shows live movement of the joint in real time so that the surgeon has the best view of what is happening inside that knee. If Bobby Orr's doctors had access to this type of MRI they would have known NOT to cut out the torn part of the meniscus & simply feed Orr the proper types of collagens & proteins to aid in healing without surgery.

If it's any consolation, the Bruins are knee-deep in a goaltending quagmire of their own making.
