It's clear to me that Neely and Sweeney do not think that all information is getting to Swayman. It seems to me that they think the agent is not giving accurate information to Swayman and this was Neely's way of speaking directly to Swayman without the agent involved. The shot was not fired at Jeremy, it was fired at the agent. I am pretty sure that an email could be delivered by the Bruins showing that they did offer 8×8 which the agent may have not presented it to Swayman.

  2. Gross is the problem. I don't think he told Swayman the 8×8 offer. Sounds like the Bobby Orr situation. Look at Gross track record. He is a typical greedy lawyer.

  3. Only things is, I don't trust Cam. Agent could be dirt but Cam is too emotional and has messed this situation up. They had to sign Swayman before trading Ulmark. When they did not, all the power in the negotiation instantly flipped from the Bruins having power to Swagman in control with that simple miscalculation. Now, the Bruins need him more than he needs them. He'll get his money no matter where he ends up so he's not worried. That's not a good position for the Bruins to be in for negotiations. Basic business negotiation strategies.

  4. are u seriously calling Neely a liar Conner? If i remember correctly Swayman is the 1st to bring this public. how long have u beenbeen following Bruins? Has Neely ever done this before? Also what side has a slime ball agent who's got a history of this stuff?

  5. Regardless of the truth of the Bruin's statement, they are obviously fed up with Swayman's side. This is out of character for the Bruins. They don't go public with negotiations and are good at locking up players long term. The numbers we've heard Swayman has been asking for are ridiculous, if true… I wonder if Swayman's side has been so ridiculous that Neely felt saying 8×8 was far closer to the B's offer than anything Swayman has been asking ?

  6. Not so sure Neely is lying. Mr Jacob’s was sitting to his left. To tell that lie in front of the boss is a sure path to the unemployment line without a doubt.

  7. I think syaman is asking for to much he is just upset because of the arbitration from last season I think the bruins have done everything they can trade him plenty of goalies out there

  8. Just sign him to a one-year deal and try to re-sign him in-season or trade him before the deadline. Holding out does nothing good for either side.

  9. It's hard to look at any of what Gross says as truthful given his history of pulling this is really hard. Cam could have said that to point at Gross knowing people would know that about him but I feel that would be Cam putting his career on the line for something that would be easily proved. I hope Swayman if he didn't know bounces him but if not, sad to see him go but also peace out.

  10. I think that is a more than fair deal 8×8, if Gross isn’t reporting this to Swayman, maybe Sway needs to reconsider his agent. Bruins do some shady shit but I don’t think they are in the business of openly lying especially to media. They wouldn’t have said anything at all.

  11. I'm sure Swayman's teammates aren't happy with him, I know I wouldn't be. The captain took less than market value his whole career.

  12. Trade Swayman to San Jose after sitting him out a year. Greed needs to be punished. Of course, Swayman could fire his agent and sign today.

  13. When was the last time neely lied about a contract evan? Gross did this to Nylander dubas actually had to call Nylander to get deal done. Gross never told him about offer.

  14. There are two sides to this an both are right;

    1. Jeremy Swayman is acting with arrogant martydom. "Resetting the goalie market" BS – dude shut UP you've played 132 career games and have a career high 44 starts. Take your 8 mil a year and STFU.

    2. If Neely and Sweeney never penned 8×8 on paper and Neeley opened his mouth like he did yesterday, both should be fired. We are nothing without Sway, they f'd this up big time when they traded Ullmark before having him signed.

  15. It makes no sense for Neely to lie, too risky, no history. He asked sway if he wanted to be in Boston and was told yes. Agree with other comments that he is ensuring swayman is aware that they have offered what is more than a fair market deal to someone who has always played with a vezina partner, never been a number one, never played 50 or more games, never won a vezina or cup….agent gross has a history with Johnny Geadreau and Nylander of not informing his clients of what is on the table and being set straight by his own client. The history points to the agent being the issue.

  16. If the Bruins did offer 8×8, then shame on Swayman! The Bruins are offering a very good deal for an unproven starting goalie. I would not sign him to a 1 year deal; let him sit a year with no pay and no play.

  17. If Swayman turned down 8×8 then I can see the Bruins frustration.

If that wasn't offered, then Neely HAS to be fired.

  18. who cares the fact is.. its been offered either take it or walk! You arent good enough to play games! When was the last playoff push? Round 1 and 2 ??? Cmon

  19. Lewis Gross, famously withheld contract offers from Johnny Gaudreau on his last deal in Calgary, to the point where Johnny had to tell him to cut the shit and take the best deal. No way would Neely risk his job by violating the CBA and lying about contract negotiations with his boss, Charlie Jacobs, sitting right next to him! It’s pretty clear who’s lying if we just look at each party’s record

  20. If I were a Gross Straw-man…er, ugh, Swayman, I would consult with Bobby Orr and not some Alan Eagleson clone. 😜

  21. My big takeaway… fuck cam Neely. Why would you blow up the negotiation process like that? Sweeney was being respectful and acknowledged that players need to fight for their perceived value, and all Neely did is undercut that and give the swayman camp a reason to sour on the team

  22. I can't believe the Jacobs family would sink 64 mm into a goalie right now when this team is in flux. McDavid & Draisaitl were not able to beat the Panthers last season so by adding Lindholm and Zadorov and losing Debrusk the Bs are ready to contend for a Cup this season?!

Hoping all sides agree that the best move is for Swayman to leave Boston and the Bs get assets that make them better offensively now.

  23. The point is 64 was mentioned whether or not it was only mentioned in a presser or not which is impossible to believe. Swayman still is holding out …

  24. It comes down to signing the paper and get playing. It can all be put to rest quickly. But I don't think Swaymans agent told him about the offer for 8. I really do. I think hrs greedy. Remember, Nylander has ro tell Gross. Let's get a deal done. It's gonna take Sway following suit the same way.

  25. You already know Gross is lying, the first sentence in the statement says he doesn't discuss negotiations through the media, we know he has been leaking shit for weeks.

  26. Iiifbthe Bruins offer is 64 even though I like Swayman I think he’s not worth over 7 million he need to prove he’s a full player

  27. I counted 4788 times they said if the Bruins lied, they seem pretty convinced that they lied. I know you guys are around the players a lot more than management, but Jesus Christ can we get some objectivity?
