This is an excuse making coach. They play the game, better than you coach the game. Get these guys ready to play. Stop being their shrink, let the trainers care for their health, turn the talent loose, and let them play.
Is there not something else you can do? Sell memorabilia or beer mugs, anything but coach.
This is going to be a bottom 10 team in the NHL this year if Patrick Kane has neither DeBrincat nor Larkin on his line. That is not hyperbole. That is what will happen. They should have fired this coach after last season. He is a nepotist who plays favorites and does not run a merit-based program. This is cancer in a locker room and you can see the vibes early on w his absurd lineup. It is a one-line team. And that one line isn't even close to being the best possible one line on the team. The Kane version of that top line was significantly better last year both at scoring and at preventing the opponent from scoring. If you think the players don't know this kind of stuff, oh no, they do. Bad lineups like this to favor particular players and punish other way more respected, way more well liked, way more deserving players, results in a teamwide quit. Lalonde is setting his team up for one of those here. Get Kane help, stop favoring Raymond, or get ready to be fired during or after the season and never get another NHL head coaching job.

Hope they settle on Raymond driving his own line with Tarasenko and Compher. He's the only guy on this team besides Larkin who can. Also hope Kasper makes the team.

People flipping out over what? A preseason game that the nhlers were trying to avoid getting injured in before regular season starts? We have already seen a number of nhl regulars getting injured in preseason going too hard and things happening.
