I don’t think the Isles being 7th in conference and in a divisional spot is a mark of something being wrong. They were only behind one wild card team. Statistically, that’s pretty normal. 8th? 9th? That’d be weird.

I kinda have the same analysis as SDPN…they are good but…what is missing really for the next step ? They have good forwards, a good offensive D in Dobson and the best goalie duo in the league..what more do you need to go beyond ?
Roy likes Varlamov, he had him in Colorado when he won the Jack Adams. Sorokin was hurt the majority of last year, resulting in back surgery this off season. He should be a major bounce back
Anyone else notice adam voice sounds like a smoker he is getting sick .
The only reason the Isles made the playoffs the last 2 seasons is not because their a "good" team. Its because the rest of the division was a step behind. Remember, they only made the playoffs by a couple of points. One or two more losses and they don't make the playoffs. Out in the first round both seasons, out in 7, then out in 6. Lets see what happens this season. I think they'll be a bit better this season, though. LGI !
8-1-1 in last 10…new coach ..we got The Duke baby..plus Max from KHL ..healthy De ..we were the worst on the PK in the league and 22nd in scoring..miracle they made playoffs…these additions will help that…Varly was amazing..hope Sorokin is back and guess what they can challenge Rangers
Dont Worry Stevo, the Islanders will be in the playoffs again as the Isles still made the playoffs last year with 3 of their top 4 DEFENSEMEN missing 30+ games each!!! Think what their record would have been if they only missed 15 games each! Add Reilly for a full season and Isles 6 man d is as strong as any team. If the Isles get 60 goals combined from Lee, Duclair, Palmieri they become a top 10 team in the league. Komarov Engvall Martin Islanders will take any Maple Leafs reject and beat the Leafs with them.
They should have had Steve or Jesse do the lead job on these while adams voice recovers

Isles have more playoff victories than the Maple Leafs since they lost pajama boy.
