Probably that shoulder injury he got in that battle with Seider.

  2. It kinda looked like he popped his shoulder back in after the contact

  3. Plague183

100% that shoulder, even after his first goal he was wincing about it after celebrating. It probably felt worse this morning

  4. GrifterOG

Broke his back carrying the team last 4 games

  5. Dude is a glass cannon, jeez. Hopefully he’s good to go for next Wednesday!

What a sad turn of events. I hope this is just to give him 2-3 days to heal as I want to see him Top 6 for at least five games to start the season. He deserves the chance.

  7. Guy just can’t catch a break. Every time it looks like he gets rolling and is ready to really contribute he is out with injury.

Hope he can heal up and stay healthy, because it seems like he can finally be the depth scoring piece the Leafs have needed for a while now.

Maybe if we are lucky the leafs are just gaming the system with all these announced injuries. If they can get some guys on IR maybe they figure they have a better chance of sneaking some fringe guys through waivers a little later when other teams are more set in stone.

He’s just got to find a way to stay healthy this year

Looks like he sustained the injury in last nights game prior to him scoring 2. Wild.

    Upper body?

His head must be swollen from all that goal scoring.

This has kind of been a recurring theme for him, can he physically fit into an nhl lineup. Everyone’s known he has the scoring ability, and Berube will work with him on his defensive IQ, but he get bounced around and the wear and tear can take a toll on him.

Biggest thing i saw from his injury yesterday is his mindset – he was clearly in pain but i think given the stakes for a roster spot and the amount of competing guys in yesterday’s lineup, he said fuck it, dug deep and played through it. It worked out well but hopefully it’s not a trend this year and he can finally thrive

Season is over boys. Let’s pack it up. We’ll miss the playoffs. /s

And I got downvoted for saying he needs to be consistent.

Part of being consistent is being available.

You can’t rely on somebody that is a massive question mark time and time again. Hopefully he comes back and is effective.

You could tell right away, hope for the best. I’d be taking care of the money he’s already made if I was him.

Can’t wait to hear about how this is Keefe’s fault

Honestly, I’m glad we don’t start until the 9th. It lets all of these (hopefully) smaller injuries heal up without having to decide if we want to risk playing through them and making it worse.

i figured he would be immediately injured once the regular season started, but couldnt even last that long

  18. They only have one preseason game left, he’s scored out last five goals, he has solidified his presence on the starting roster. This is likely him being bruised up and there is literally no reason to give him the next game

oh fuck!!!!!!!!!!! I really hope its day to day for real and not week to week…

  20. thrilliam_19

Day to day doesn’t worry me too much but the decades of pain and suffering lead me to believe that Nick Robertson will never score again.

  21. mgnorthcott

I was at the game and watching him a lot. When he took the hit, which was hard to see for me, he went straight to the bench. A play later he was back out and shaking off that arm, but he scored. A few shifts later I notice he’s playing defence with one hand in close to his body off his own stick for the most of the time, and only grabbing the stick when he needed to, and saw the same behaviour the rest of the game.

  22. Day to day is good news. Probably just a little rest required on the shoulder.

  23. Big_Albatross_3050

on the bright side, he’s definitely earned a spot, so he’s got a week to heal up

  24. Chtholly13

his hands must of gotten burned from the hot stick he was holding.

  25. This is the problem. Not his offensive ability. His durability.

  26. Hate to say it, but there’s nowhere on the team to slot Robertson in. His value will never be higher than right now, I think they’re gonna trade him. He can perform well in the top 6 on about half the teams in the NHL. Package him up with a couple of other pieces and try and get another impact defenseman or role player.

  27. power_of_funk

gonna be tough for him to win his spot back from guys like Reaves Lorentz and Holmberg
