  1. Dobson, Pelech, Mayfield are the most troubling to me in Game 1. Dobson because if you're going to pay someone $9M, you want him to be able to lock down a lead or defend. Or score 80-90 points.

  2. I'm not quick to react with the negativity on the norm. Im patient. But, I was there last night, and was annoyed for the 1st time so early on. From the start… Just sloppy overall. Bad passing, bad entries, losing pucks, overskating pucks. Haven't seen a game like that where in all facets they looked very poor. They were lucky to even get a point. Last, in Overtime. Why is Adam Pelech out there? It's 3 on 3. He's no threat. I'm not worried about having a legit D guy. Go for the win. Only D guys should be Dobson and Reilly. But how about throwing out Duke, Horvat, and Barzal? Why not? What do u have to lose? Throw the kitchen sink out there for a min. It's 3 on 3. Not 5 on 5.

  3. I guess i should preface my comment by saying this is my second year watching NHL/Islanders, but I feel the second line of Nelson/Palmieri/Tsyplakov is going to produce goals pretty consistently. I thought they looked like they meshed well.
I'm still learning all the ins and outs of the game, but I am really looking forward to the new season. I'm optimistic…guess I haven't been a fan long enough to have the immediate doom and gloom outlook haha

  4. Our defensive core was horrible last night. the Isles seemed to be playing real tight in the 1st, then got sloppy too often. I've been saying for years the Isles need some serious passing drills. Ingram? was great for Utah.
