When you need 3 goalies, there's an issue. Coaching needs to be change and words cannot describe their defense breakdown. I predict Lalonde being fired by mid season and Yzerman's role is in jeopardy. It's a same story with the Wings. Lets see if they bounce back against the Predators.

When Yzerman signed Copp and JT to ill-advised over paid long term contracts I knew it was only a matter of time before those contracts screwed us. How nice would an extra $11m in cap space look now?? Whats more puzzling is he drafted Kasper and Danielson at the very same time. Kasper and Dan were not that far away from being NHL ready, so now Copp is blocking Kasper(who would make us a better team this year) and next year JT will block Danielson next season..and there seems no possible way to fix this situation as Copp and JT are untradable. I will forever be perplexed by this. In general I will never understand the additions of Chariot, Petry, Copp, JT, Holl, Perron, etc. These were unnecessary additions. We should have been playing the young boys and tanking for higher draft picks. These additions really put a roadblock in he rebuild. Now we seem destined to be stuck as a middling team. It's like SY was mixing 'rebuild' and 'rebuild on the fly' together. As for Lalonde, he should have been fired in the offseason. It's obvious he is not the right guy..but like Holland, SY is loyal to a fault. Anyways, this is a swiss cheese roster, reminds me of a group of guys, not a team, but we will compete for a wild card spot and if we make it be swept in the first round.

Let’s give this team at least 10 games before we decide the season is over. I don’t feel great about the goalies, but let’s see what talbot can do. Defense had a bad game, but let’s see how Johansson does in the lineup. Remember, this is a team fighting for a playoff spot this season, not a cup. There are going to be some bad games
Just enjoy the season and take the pressure off, if we are dogshit in two or three years time when the vet/bad contracts are done then we can get depressed

Duh….. both of these young players developed way faster then they were expected too. That is a good thing! Remember, S. Yzerman is still like a year ahead in the progress that HE expected. ( He has indicated so much in numorous videos that have been posted over the years. Stop listening for things you want him to say and pretending that he said it and actually listen specifically to his words. He always tells you what's coming in a very honest way and t😢hen he sets out to do it). The youth movement of good prospects and big trades doesn't really begin until the Copp and Compher contracts run out. I think that is in 2025. This is only a problem when you try to rush the timeline for cap management that he set in place from the beginning. 😊 So you all need to take some nerve pills or you re going to develop high bp and get a stroke ! Jeeze man, please have a reality check !

I don't much care for Lalonde. He is not a head coach. The real problem is Yzerman. He was a hell of a hockey player but his general managing skills are very questionable, Most of the players that Yzerman has picked up over the years have never really amounted to much over their careers.
Yzerman best get a goalie soon or it will be his downfall,…don't miss the playoffs again ,time to take notes from the Tigers,…it don't take a generation to build a hockey team

Why is Maatta never talked about at all? His +/- was near the best on the team last year. Last night in a 6-3 loss, he was still a 0 on the +/- while playing over 18 minutes. He doesn't put up good offensive numbers, but at least he doesn't make a lot of mistakes and is underrated defensively, in my opinion.

Both Chariot and Ed were caught looking around in front of our net, others were not marking the late Pen going to the center of the net…..then the puck was in the net.
The effort looked uninspired, the team defensive positioning was a mess. Also didn't like the lack of hitting from the forwards, with the exception of Veleno and Rass. Those things can be fixed with coaching. That being said, they still have 81 games left.

Yzerman has done a terrible job build this blue line, are 2nd best defenseman is a rookie. Hornek and Walkman out the door? Imagine this blue line if we had a top 4 of Seider Walkman Hornek and Edvinsson? Not the best in the word but probably top half of the league at lest.
