    takeaways in no particular order:
    – Lane Hutson is fucking him. put him on PP1 already, i don’t care. he has made PP2 more dynamic in terms of movement than PP1. it’s so much fun to watch him scurry away from skaters like he did with Tkachuk before setting up Newhook. also i hope they give him the assist on Heineman’s goal too, he kicked it to Dvorak i think
    – Caufield having a breakout year is looking more and more likely. 4G in 3GP already is a good sign even if a small sample size. loved to see him snipe that first one, he looks a lot quicker with his release this year compared to last year. shoulder looking good!
    – Slaf quietly has 3A in 3GP, again a small sample size but another good sign, especially because i think he can play better. Suzuki too seemed to be warming up tonight more than the last two games. he also needs time to rev up, not worried about him
    – Kapanen and Heineman are good players. so much better than Ylonen and even Pezzetta imo
    – Monty with another very strong showing. locked in. fuck it, let him start on team Canada
    – Gallagher having a good start to the season! no points today but has been strong imo, looks like he has energy/better conditioning this year
    – Guhle is going to be a steady force for us for many years, he’s so solid
    – Newhook has been good! Dach i kinda want more from but nothing Bad necessarily

  2. Someone said in the GDT that Slafkovsky was PPG even if he was not playing his best. I didn’t realize it with the craziness of Caufield being 4g in 3 games and Hutson being all over the place.

Hutson slowly showing even doubters when one of the biggest question about him was what will he do against big strong players. The play versus Tkachuk showed it, he just outskate and outmaneuver them with his raw skills.

I think the hype is real for the future guys. It’s really exciting isn’t it. Imagine if Dach had Laine also O_o

Best game of the season, Hutson is special and our top 6 is waking up. Love seeing Cole’s shot looking elite again.

  4. ObverseNebula

Fuck the Sens, no one beats us 10 times in a row

  5. pengupenguPENGU

Remember the days where getting more than 2 goals in a game was straight up impossible? This season is going to be so much fun

  6. Nobodylovesboston

Ohh shit I thought Price was on the net tonight

  7. Beefiest_bison

Sens rebuild going well, in 5 years they’ll be scary /s

  8. You know when people were saying Hutson, among all our prospects, had the highest potential of radically changing our offense by the options he brings? Well that happened way faster than I expected.

  9. Kenner1979

Maybe it’s just me, but beating Toronto and Kanata and losing to Boston feels better than beating Boston and losing to either Toronto or Kanata

  10. Ghost_Idol

Best match yet by far. J’espère à une saison avec ce niveau d’énergie constant

  11. blondehairginger

Ghule is being paid 5.5m per year for six years starting next season.

  12. They’re not remotely close to being as much of a rival as the leafs or the bruins but i’d be lying if beating the « spooky » sens isn’t satisfying. It’s not the same « fuck yes » when we beat the leafs or bruins, more of like a smirk and thinking about how much of a joke that franchise and fanbase is. We live in their heads rent free while i only remember they exist on game days, what like 4 times a year?

  13. BeBenNova

    Satisfying as fuck game tbh

Get turbo fucked Sens, anything to help you miss the playoffs again

  14. TheCatelier

    Cole caufield: 109 Goal pace

Hutson, Slaf, Guhle: 82 points pace

    Montembeault: 98.6% save percentage pace.

    Not bad.

    *GOOD*

    – This analysis will be a little lame as I couldn’t lock into the game as much. Being social.

    – beating Ottawa is nice. Snapping that ugly streak.

    – Hutson is amazing. Just amazing. Absolute game changer.

    – Top line came to play tonight.

    – Colex2!!!

    – Of course Monty. Again solid.

    – The depth players as well. EH with first nhl goal.

    – Gallagher turning back the clock

    *BAD*

    – Need a bit of an upgrade on Barron I think

  16. DaxLe_TriHard

Imagine this team with Laine and Demidov next year. Fuck

  17. lets finish that perfect night with a big

    Caufield 🥵🥵🥵

    Hutson 🥶🥶🥶

    Montembeault 🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️

  19. Mbeaud001

Fuck, l can see the light!!! Lane will win the Calder, Sam will play for Canada in the 4 nations cup and Cole is fucking lighting it up!

  20. Lots to be happy about. Hutson is PPG, Cole is PPG+, Slaf is PPG. Monty is a Hab.

Anyone else find themselves just laughing when watching Hutson dance all over the ice?

I just can’t believe it man, he’s absolutely unbelievable. This team is going to be so fun to watch for the next decade!

  23. The dream of Monty starting the season with two shutouts was done in by Timmy, but he’s looking great so far regardless. The team as a whole looked a lot better this game, too (though obviously the Senators are lesser competition compared to the Leafs and the Bruins).

About halfway through the second period I thought Suzuki started to pick it up, and he got a point on the board, so we squelched that talking point, thankfully. Slaf is also point-per-game without even being all the noticeable yet. Caufield, meanwhile, continues to be in great form; he’s doing the Armia no-assists approach so far.

Gallagher and Anderson, the bad contract boys, are both having a nice start to the year.

Hutson is already so good, it’s heartening to think what he could look like in a few years with more refinement and work on skating speed and shot velocity.

  24. Habs_Apostle

Lane Hutson making hockey for Habs fans fun again. CC the scoring machine we all knew he was, and Monty channeling Price. Oh, and Gally was supposed to be finished two years ago… looks reborn! This team is looking very promising!

    GHG!!!!

  25. habulous74

Hutson has been the best player on the ice for either team for most of the time he’s been on the ice this year.

He creates something every time he touches the puck.

  26. astonedgecko

I’m going against the grain and saying Barron isn’t that bad. I feel like his gaffs are kind of obvious and *look* terrible but he can enter the zone and you can see the wheels churning offensively, even if he still has to get a bit faster at executing. Hes starting to take the body more along the boards as well. Hes 22. I think with a full season of nhl ice time he can take a step.

  27. BossNian90

Drafting Slafkovsy AND Hutson in the same draft should be criminal. The scout who vouched for Hutson should get a raise ASAP.

Adding Demidov to this group will make us playoff bound , no doubt in my mind.

  28. itsdajackeeet

Hutson makes the #2 pp look as good as the first one. I’m convinced you could pick 4 players at random and put him out there and it would be a problem for the other team

  29. LeFreshMaker

Watching Monty in net tonight (and on Wednesday against the Leafs) really felt a bit like watching Carey in his prime. Before anyone says anything, he’s not Carey Price. However, his movement in net felt similar. I felt he looked more calm than in the past (definitely more so than Primeau on Thursday), more subtle with his movements. Rebound control has been on point thus far as well, and he just seems to have an almost Price-esque swagger right now. He hasn’t been phased by anything so far. It’s been impressive to watch and I hope he can keep it up.

  30. PaulWesterberg84

Hutson is a superstar in waiting, his game is too repeatable even on off days. Nice to see Slaf with 2pts playing not so good hockey but this was by far his best match this year. Great game in general against a team that’s more our level. Monteambeault has been absolutely lights out but I’m glad he got much better support this time around.
