What in the fuck was that braindeadness

  2. WilliamandCharles

Clarke is having trouble adjusting to the speed of the NHL.

  3. raymondliang

Brandt Clarke with a solid 0/10 game today. That was just dreadful. Spence was not much better.

Obviously we’re still in week 1, but man, LTIR money is going to be tempting to use / swing a trade if they cant remotely replace Doughty’s minutes and impact.

  4. Clarke almost cost the team two goals today, including OT.

This is going to be a rough stretch without Doughty.

Both Clarke and Spence were exposed badly a few times each.

  5. I didn’t realize it was a day game, and only saw OT.

How did the team look today?

  6. ahr3410

Our first “at least we got a point” of the season

  7. MumkeMode

Drew Doughty if you can hear this please save us. Drew Doughty please save us

  8. Stolthet24

Clarke and Spence both had rough games…

  9. Edmuresay

Much, much better game from the boys in this one today. Boston is big, strong and good. Gatta respect them. Hard team to play against.

Bunch of tired guys got caught in OT. Tired guys make shitty plays, that’s how it goes. They had their chances, tho.

Really liked what the 4th line brought and the D pairs held up well enough for the most part. Clarke is still very much a work in progress, but he’s not getting caught on the wrong side of the puck 5v5… he’ll get there I think. +1, GKG

Positives: Keumper still looked great, PK was K’ing, We out shot a shooting team.

Negatives: Brandt Clarke is very much a rookie, PP was limp (never want a limp PP), Spence is not Drew Doughty.

Whatever, I’ll take the overtime point. Overall a better played game than Buffalo despite the outcome.

Our PP sucks, like what 1 goal out of how many so far? Idk why we hired the ducks old coach for that when they also sucked at the pp.

Clarke and Spence both had rough games but it’s early so hopefully they get better

Darcy has continued to look great

Not the worst outcome at least

We always seem to throw hands with Boston. The team looks good granted it’s the beginning of the year I like em.

  13. headintheskye

can’t believe i’m saying this but do we wanna put englund in the show?

Honestly not too upset. We never seem to play well during matinee games and we’re on a long road trip that started in the pre-season. If we make it to our home opener at .500 or better I think we can count it as a solid start without having Drew. This road trip will hopefully help teach Clarke to bend and not break with no distractions of being home, just hockey on the mind while out on the road for these few weeks.

  15. WilliamandCharles

Without Doughty it’s rough right now. Burroughs is playing very well imo, but Clarke and Spence need to step it the fuck up or we’re in trouble.

  16. DiscombobulatedTea55

Yeesh tough sloppy gameplay, hoping we end up using doughtys cap space on someone solid to temporarily take his place

  17. It would have been cool to win obvs but we played well. 2-1 in overtime to the Bruins is still pretty tough. I’m optimistic about this season. Darcy still deserves a raise.

I didn’t have a chance to watch the whole game, missed period 1, And was kind of background watching the rest of the game but overall I thought the boys looked quite a bit better than last game. I REALLY believe that QB is going to become a complete superstar. Too bad Swayman played a great game, But all in all I thought this was a good performance. Hopefully they continue to improve. I was extremely sceptical to this roster over the summer but I’m starting to like what they could become if they dial it in

  19. kopitar-11

Was Spence hurt or just benched? He didn’t play at all like the last 10 mins and overtime

  20. guraqt2t

Clarke has phenomenal skill, but hasn’t adjusted to the NHL speed yet. Every few shifts he thinks he has coverage on his man, and then turns around and his guy is on the other side of the ice.

All is well though, that’s what being a rookie is for. Look how far Byfield’s come from his rookie season. This early season roadtrip will be a good lesson and we’ll be rolling in no time. All that being said, I’m sure Clarke’s going to receive the grilling of a lifetime for that OT sequence.

  21. ShadowChair

    Good:

-Team looked way, way better than vs. Buffalo

    -Kuemper is a beast

-Byfield was flying again, this guy could actually be a superstar

-Burroughs has been consistently making solid, safe plays and honestly Edmundson has been alright too

    Bad:

    -So many penalties

    -Fiala did not look good

-Clarke was honestly terrible in overtime. I was (pleasantly) surprised Hiller actually put out Clarke/Fiala/Byfield as our OT starters and Clarke really struggled. Rest of the game he was not as bad but he didn’t look great

-Anderson/Spence pairing is not so hot, definitely missing Doughty out there

We’ll take a point, and honestly could’ve won that game for sure but Swayman was great as well. Onto the next

  22. No_Huckleberry_7410

I was at the game, and in a sea of Bruins fans (who were very nice people but definitely should not be refs), I could tell something was off with Clarke. He didn’t hustle at all in overtime for a puck that would’ve given the Kings a 3 on 1, and it cost them the game. He’s an amazing talent, better than everyone in this sub (especially me), but not at a point where he should be taking up those minutes in OT. Darcy looked great though!

  23. WinnerAromatic115

Clarke gets bodied easily and needs to play waaay better 🤦‍♂️ Mikey’s fault it was 1-1

  24. HMWastedDays

This game really killed Kopi’s pace for a 246 goal season.

  25. TheWayDenzelSaysIt

I didn’t watch the game but the PGT is pretty much what I expected it to be. Guys, we have a lot of new faces and adjustments to make. It’s a long season and not everyone is going to correct mistakes in 1 game.

  26. Feeling way better about this Kings team compared to last season.

    5v5 things look really solid.

Going to need Byfield to be a big time points producer tho. Time for him to take the step into full time star.

  27. Fiala always takes time to get his rhythm, nothing new there.

New faces in new places. Even experienced guys are in different spots on the lineup so mistakes and bad timing are excusable in the first weeks of the season.

Goaltending was a strong point again just need to have more pressure on the other side of the puck, 30+ shots and theres bound to be a few that go in.

  28. It’s amazing how frightened tough NHL big guys are of Tanner J. He is a force.

There was something I noticed that existed in last year’s team as well, it’s the sloppy neutral zone play. Maybe more specifically receiving passes.

I think of it as a skill that each NHL player should have, but it seems like our guys are regularly. Just fumbling passes.

Not a bad game to watch.
