Watched the game live on TV from Australia. Same old story. Poor team defence. And several times where players had good looks on goal but constantly decide to give the extra pass – always trying to get the picture perfect goal. Just get pucks on net and follow up with some grit and get some scrappy goals

They're overcomplicating things. It needs a simpler approach. And then, in the third, it's like, come on guys… I get it, it's only the third game, but do we really need this kind of frustration every autumn? Maybe this is just who Edmonton is—terrible starts leading to better outcomes in the end. So, take your time, give up another 20 games, and then finally bring the Cup home.

At this point I’m just surprised at their lack of pride let alone their discipline. If your “Happy” to be back playing then where is 60 minutes of “paid” for play hockey at least. It’s a team game but on a side note I’ve been on Darnell’s side his whole career but it’s been the latter part of last year, playoffs, pre season and three games in and he is not what he once was. His hockey IQ has really dropped off for whatever reason. Just a thought…. I would drop him to third pairing minutes to see if this motivates him or not. Darnell is one Oilers but he is causing many issues and for awhile now.

The core are in their prime years so over 82 games they should get back to the ave likey over 103 pts.. Shooting 3.7 %and save percentage is well below league ave. Those will come back to the mean 11% shooting and save percentage will be just above league ave once the 82 game season is up.
