  1. They barely beat the Canucks and their 3rd string goalie. Same ole same ole with the Oilers, you can't win with 2 players esp when they have an unspectacular night.

  2. They’re still losing to Dallas in the playoffs this year and Robertson, Hintz, and Heiskanen are lifting Stanley.

  3. Their defense beyond the first pairing and goaltending is terrible. An ancient Mike Smith had better save percentages than Skinner despite not playing behind Mattias Ekholm.

  4. The thing we are forgetting is that we brought in 2 semi-elite wingers.

They need time to adjust to the system PLUS they are already expected to score goals.

I cut them 5 games of slack – Being Skinner and Arvidsson – Before their defensive play is cleaned up and they start generating more offence.

    The Oilers need
    A) More speed OR toughness/size in the bottom 6
    B) A puck moving, right shot defence-man
    C) A willingness to understand that we will have to grind out some extra wins this year until we address those 2 needs.

When the team defensive improves, Stuart Skinner’s numbers improve.

This will not be an easy road back to the playoffs.

  5. They haven’t won a thing. How can it be hangover? Plays with no passion once again, too fancy on the pp. passing too much instead of just shoot if chance comes..

  6. How can they have a hang over ….the didn't win for f… sake …..these prima donna wanna be's believe McJesus walks on water …

  7. It's not a Stanley Cup hangover. They were always just a bad team. Sometimes bad teams get lucky and go on little streaks in the playoffs. Look at the Habs a few years ago. They got lucky in 2021, made it to the Finals, and have missed the playoffs every years since. I expect much the same from the Oilers
