1st and 3rd goals were very saveable and Lyon's fault. If that was Husso people would be blaming him. Tired of the double standard, Lyon made 1 really nice save but he wasn't good enough.

I buy ESPN+ monthly during hockey season to watch the Red Wings here in Seattle, but already in the third game of the season, the Detroit vs. Rangers game wasn’t on ESPN+, only on the NHL network. What’s next , not being able to watch because of Apple TV, TBS or something? Frustrating.

Totally predictable result. We got goalied and we played well. That’s all there is to it. I’m getting really tired of this result though.
This is probably not a popular viewpoint, but even though the Wings have a super deep farm system, they have very little elite franchise type talent. Most importantly, they don't have that at center. With the way the NHL changed the lottery rules, I think it might be best to play all the youth that's ready next year, and potentially finish at the bottom of the standings. Then, if luck prevails, they draft Gavin McKenna and are off to win cups. They already have the supporting cast drafted. It would be like when the Avs sucked and drastically underperformed, and finished last. They drafted MacKinnon and the rest is history. Even if it's this season and we draft James Hagens. One terrible year and a top 2 pick would change this teams future in a massive way. Hagens or McKenna would turn this team into a juggernaut. Within a few years of them being drafted, Larking is 2C, and we have a legit middle.

Anyone else notice us getting pushed around a lot to start this season? Cat, Burgers, Kane, even Ray at times getting dropped on their booties too much. Hopefully just a slow start to the season.
I think we will see plenty of games like this if we get the lead early on. We looked bad when we were chasing the game. I hope the offense will slowly start to generate. 🙂
