I am starting to question Tocchet, too. It's been shades of Travis Green lineup decisions, I hope he realizes that what he has been doing needs to adapt to what is happening on the ice.

What if we played Elias Pettersson on defense and Elias Pettersson at center
I’d go with:
Suter – Miller – Boeser
Debrusk – Pettersson – Garland
Hoglander – Blueger – Sherwood
Heinen – Raty – Sprong
And then I’d ask myself why I spent 2million on Heinen instead of a better Dman, and why we aren’t bringing in more size upfront..
The "duos we will never, ever break up" mentality prevents Tocc from even trying what could be more effective lines. I was saying before the season began that I'd like to see:
DeBrusk – Pettersson – Boeser
Joshua – Miller – Garland
as the top 2 lines. Obviously Joshua being on IR makes that impossible right now. So I'd slide Heinen up into Joshua's place. And it just so happens that the highest paid 6-7 forwards also end up being the top 2 lines this way. Imagine that
I'm actually not worried at all. They keep improving regardless of win or loss, each game they look better than the last. I like that Tocc isn't afraid to get creative with the lines this early in the season. Early losses will just fan their flame and lead to a harder fighting, more focused team imo. None of our top guys are producing like they should, but I'd much rather that than having no depth.

How does Juulsen fall that easy. If that was Vincent there. He wouldn't of fell that easy. But too me in this game, it felt like they was taking a fall. They was flat footed. i’m not worried in the slightest look at colorado edmonton and nashville all terrible starts worse then ours i feel confident in the team and i just think they have a few things to work on and we should have a good season

I don’t like Tocchet’s reluctancy to make changes within the game. He’s quite hard bent on sticking to whatever choice he made before the start of the game, even if it means the team will lose.

Something tells me Räty would be good for Petey. Similar to playing with Miller. Räty and Petey would essentially share Centre.
We need our 11.6million dollar forward to play like a 11.6million dollar forward lol..
Last year he was killing it until the All Star break. People made excuses for his poor finish. "Oh he had poor quality linemates. Oh he was injured"
We literally signed a top 6 forward to play assist and play alongside him this season and he still looks lost out there lol
Juulsen is horrible at defence. He did the exact same thing in playoff last year. He cant skate for shit, coughs up pucks and falls way to easily all the time. All he knows how to do is bang and the days of having one skill set defencemen are over. We shoulda kept Big Z. at least he could score & bang.
These first games are like preseason games. Once Joshua gets back in the lines will stabilise.

The Oilers had a rough start early last season and they got one win away from the Stanley Cup. Just goes to show that every team in the NHL is in it for the long haul and that you can't trust any small sample size. It also goes to show that there's a reason why the head coach is Rick Tocchet and the GM is Patrik Allvin, and not some random commentors.

Last year the Canucks were great. So let’s throw a grenade into the mix, get rid of half of the team and bring in new ones. Now the Canucks are a dud. Makes sense to me.
