I use to say the same thing about DiPietro. Having said that, Sorokin is NOT DiPietro.
In 2023 / 24 Sorokin had a .909 sv% while making the third most number of saves while playing less games than the two in front of him and faced the second most number of shots while playing less games. His sv % was better than guys like Oettinger, Markstrom and Vasilevskiy. All while playing with a (potentially) bad back. Was it a down year for him? Sure, but only because we've seen him at his best. I wouldn't say it was a terrible year for him but I am hopeful he gets back to that level.
Sorokin is a winner, he always won in the khl and he has solid for us since being here doesn't matter the coaches or🎉 who is in front of him and even if he ain't fully healthy he does well enough, I know a lot of people don't like lou but lou has brought us a culture where players want to play here and stay here which is the first gm to do that for us since the 80s
