Still believe in Yzerman, but he did handcuff the Wings in the short term with excess veteran placeholders. I don't have confidence our bottom six forwards or the defense will reproduce the offense provided last year. I do agree the top six will get it together. A coaching change may be on the horizon, but Yzerman needs to choose a long term solution if it comes to that.
What do DeBrincat and Rasmussen get paid for if they can't play?

Why are the Wings paying Rasmussen 3.2 million and Veleno 2.3 million? 5.5 million goes a long way to pay for a 20 goal scorer.
This team is about 25% less talented than last season. Yzerman continues to show, he does not have the smarts to be a GM. Tampa notwithstanding, if he was really that good, he would still be there. No Defense, no Goaltending, no Character, and just the most uninspiring coaching in the NHL.
This team is like a bully. They come out strong, play fast, get a lot of chances, but often don’t capitalize (Debrincat). If the opposing team lets them run around, they can make you pay, but as soon as the opponent punches back this team crumbles. Is that coaching? On ice leadership? Personally, I don’t think it’s personnel. I genuinely think this is a good roster with some, admittedly large, holes in net and a couple on D. I’d like to see seider on PP1 and Gus scratched most nights in favor of A Jo. Keep Holl in until he gives you reason not to. And lalonde needs to be on a very short leash. It’s only 4 games. The season is far from over, but this trend can’t continue.

It’s kind of crazy how I worried about how they looked during preseason but everyone said not to worry about it. Now it looks like they are still playing preseason. If something doesn’t change soon this could be a long season.
Can we for the love of god stop trying to put positive spins on where this team is. They suck, constant whiffs on the puck, couldn’t hit the damn net if they were standing in it, and the moves yzerman did for this defense has made them worse.

No chemistry. Just a bunch of random players thrown together. There all playing as individuals out there it feels. More of the same from the defense. Same as last year. And lalonde….he is no leader. He is a little bitch. Loser mentality. If u remember his interviews last year when we lost 7 in a row. Yzerman is on the hot seat for me.
I don’t think Lalonde has the ability to inspire and motivate. In fact, it’s quite the opposite…when I try to listen to him speak with press, I have to tune him out. His demeanor is flat, boring and lifeless. Which is how the team looks.
Tyler motte getting whiplash from running his head into a Rangers hip then looking for a penalty sums up how atrocious this team is. Speaking of motte, why is a human punching bag that creates nothing, in the lineup instead of Kasper? And why do they continue to put chariot with seider when every time chariot gets the puck in the offensive zone he either throws a shot from the point that gets blocked or misses the net or he skates the puck down low and turns it over? Why does it matter if edvinson plays with seider when your wlenyire team sucks, if your trying to balance the defense and scoring don't bother, chariot sucks, gustafson sucks, maata sucks, holl sucks, speaking of which where is Johannes? He has one good game and then it's thanks but we don't need you anymore. Is this team playing for a top 5 pick? None of these decisions make sense unless you want to tank your season, but at this point what dies it matter. And none of this is going to change anytime soon because you have the wrong ilitch as owner. Just look at how terrible and with the exception of this fluke season how terrible the Tigers have been once the old man kicked the bucket. Detroit has 3 of its four teams: pistons, Tigers, and wings with the worst owners in sports, and so this is what you get fans, enjoy the lions because other than this fluke tiger season these other teams are just a giant disappointment and will be until ownership changes.
