  1. Minnesota and St Louis currently leading their respective games. Minnesota most likely to win, barring a 3rd period collapse. St Louis and Winnipeg still in the first, so lots of game left in that one for scoreboard changes.

  2. Is it too early for Happy, OK, Concerned , Panicked, Waiting for Lottery board? Nashville would currently sit squarely in Concerned zone

  3. Plus/minus is kind of a wash, but I think its pretty indicitave for defenseman level of play. Your top line will likely play against the opponent's top line, so plus/minus is a seesaw. For defenseman, they play more minutes, and the top two pairs will play more minutes against top forward lines, I think it tells more about whats going on for defenseman than forwards

  4. As a Hawks fan, I'm not unhappy about the Preds, but it's early days yet, they have good defense and goaltending, and the scoring will come, they'll be fine.

  5. I was almost certain Nashville would beat Boston tonight. They were desperate and had the "hockey gods" on their side.

  6. Tampa does know when to get rid of players. Im coming to belief that nothing yzerman did in tampa had nothing to do with him even when we look his time in detroit it has only gone worse for them since he came in with his yezerplan. If it was anybody else than him he wouldve been already fired

  7. Advanced stats are VERY favourable for the top guys on Nashville turning it around. Stamkos and Co. have been controlling play and getting great chances. Things will turn around even if they keep playing in a similar way. If they play better than they have(which I assume they will as they have a lot of new faces) they could easily still be a top team in the league by year end.

  8. yes…BUT when was the Blues last Stanley Cup victory? How was their record by Christmas (pretty close to last in the league if I recall?)… OR how about them Oilers last year? Weren't they around a 14 wins, 15 losses plus some overtime losses?… I cannot remember now (yes I can)…How did their season end?

  9. It's almost a bit sad that it is almost always the right call to move on from a veteran, especially in the long term. Stamkos might salvage this season, but will he be worth his cap hit the next three seasons? Kind of like JT, not at all worth his contract and kind of "ruined" the Leafs (I'm glad they're not my team) in the latter half of his deal. Since there are quite a few players I like on the Preds I hope they turn this season around – but I don't think they will, they have to pass all the other teams to get into a playoff spot and they are in one of the better divisions.
