What happened to the edgier, more violent Devils? The team allowed Bratt to get mugged by Cernak and never answered the bell. They went into a shell right after that.
They look slow, they look tired, they look unprepared. Same defensive issues as last year, playing extremely wide through the neutral zone giving up the middle all the way to our net.
I still stand behind my before season prediction. No playoffs. Tom Fitzgerald fired at the end of the season. His offseason moves weren't good. This isn't a good team. The geriatric goalie tandem is crap. 14 goals allowed in the last 2 games.
The Devils should have started Markstrom tonight. It might have been a different result.
There is definitely something not right in that locker room. There is a cancer somewhere in there! Not standing up for Bratt is ridiculous. If this team truly is close they would have crushed a TB player on the next shift after the Bratt hit.
As i stated in the live chat, there is an on/off button that gets pushed at certain points during the game.. It would just be great if it stayed on the whole time. Schedule sucks, but im tired of late period pushes. For me, this gentleman behavior needs to go bye bye and the savage behavior needs to take the reins full stop. I want teams to know why they lost in a humiliating fashion if thats what it takes. Juan Soto behavior. Until then my cup will be half empty…
The Guentzel goal should have never happened. Two missed calls leading up to it. We had just scored 2 quick ones and I’m not saying we would have tied it up but there was enough time left and who knows.

Keefe said before the game that the team has had “good structure.” Thats a load of shit and the first thing I really didn’t like Keefe saying. It makes me feel like he doesn’t have a good read on what good hockey looks like. I really hope he understands the structure hasn’t looked good except for 2 games against buffalo and 1 game against Utah.
Referring to someone's comment in the live about possible the core of this team need a change. I had that feeling for a while too, but I rather see how this pan's out. Jack seems to be on his own plane of existence out there.

Look this was an ugly game and a bit disconcerting but…. It’s very early into a very long season. And despite how ugly it was the Devils did score 5 goals and had another one disallowed. What is more disconcerting to me is the amount of goals let in by Markstrom so far. I had a feeling this team would get off to a slow start but this hurts a bit more seeing how well they started out. Time to turn the page and move one
