Let's face it folks. The cavalry is not coming to save this team. There are no trade assets in Bridgeport and which means no one to bring up and no "hockey trades" to be made. This is it. No help coming. Lamoriello's roster mismanagement has sunk this ship.
I'd like to think that maybe we could get either Phillip Kurashev from Chicago or Nick Robertson from Toronto. In return i'd offer up Pelech at this point in his career or if you are not going to use Ryan Pulock's shot on the PP then offer any of the 2. Replace them with Chlowski or maybe you can grab another 7th defenseman off waivers or sign a guy like Kevin Shattenkirk for 1 year.
I don't think we've ever seen the isles start good so I'm not worried they will come aroundn

10-12 guys on this team couldn’t play on any other team in the NHL.
I bought my season tickets this year knowing I was going to see a mediocre AHL team. This is my 48th season as an Islander fan, I can look at the roster and tell the difference between serious contenders and another year of "meh". I believe most Islander fans know enough about hockey that they don't delude themselves, but we keep going to games and buying the merchandise because we love the Islanders, that's what fans do.
