  1. Whatever they're doing, I hope it works because Jarry suuuuucks. And it also sucks that when they are finally getting contributions from the 3rd and 4th lines, 1st and 2nd are sleepwalking through games.

  2. That's more than fair. I'm more in the camp of people who feel the Penguins should have moved on from Sullivan, but that so much of the fan base has tipped over into "Sullivan sucks" or even "Sullivan was never a good coach to begin with" is a strong reminder that there is no mental health screening for becoming a Penguins fan and that 9/10ths of fan chatter isn't to be taken seriously. One of the biggest red flags for me is that even veteran players appear to be lost within the team's defensive scheme, which has mostly been sieve-like. The other is that there is something palpably off with Sid. One wonders if he has started to tune Sullivan out.

  3. I think one issue is that these three games are piggybacking off of a very poor end to last season where he lost his net to Ned in must-win games down the stretch. If you bunch together list 15-20 starts, he's still well under a .900 save percentage and around/above 3 GAA. So I think they're looking at that sample size even though it's a new season. He'll get another chance. I think it's inevitable.

  4. Normally, I'd say that this is a sign of a player about to be moved. But in Jarry's case, I suspect he may be seeing a sports psychologist, not altogether different than what helped Fleury get his game back.

  5. Yes, Jarry has been bad! But with this Pens D corps and overall D zone coverage, it wouldn’t matter if Brodeur and Roy were in net together… they would still give up 3+ goals a game!

  6. I was at fire the guy (Sully) for 4 years. He has say in who plays and what players they bring in. People want to put this at Dubas feet, but this has been the case with the past 3 GMs.

  7. DK, the Jarry situation is very strange. Unless there is a trade, I don't expect Coach Sullivan or GM Dubas to provide additional details. But I appreciate Taylor asking the follow-up question, and appreciate your thoughts as well.

  8. If this was the plan, they brought him just in case Ned wasn't 100%. Now that he is good, send him back bc I'm sure he's upset to sit in the box and it's bad for the morale

  9. We all understand your respect for Sully, but take out the 2 cups and what does his tenure look like? He's never got this team to a place they shouldn't be and if anything since the cups the Pens have fallen short of expectations

  10. Great show, DK, and thank you for your time, thoughts, and energy put into your show! I absolutely agree, and I actually must admit, I've been one of those "fire the coach" but without a substantial logical excuse, whereas you're clearly changed. This in part is why I enjoy your show so much. I'll 3rd row behind the Canucks goal Saturday night and will be cheering our Penguins on with my daughter so until your next show, God bless you

  11. It's clear that Jarry's head isn't right. My guess is that they trying to re-set him, the same way they re-set Fleury back in 2013 (or was it 2012?) when he was broken mentally. (And no, I'm not comparing the goalies, just the situation.) But they likely took him on the trip because they weren't sure if Ned would be truly physically ready, and now they are comfortable that Ned is healthy.

  12. It may be for the best, but I'm not big on saying fire anyone. I think that it's a good move, but what's next. Thank you DK
