@Oilers d'Edmonton

1. Leon isn’t even a top 30 player in the league now, he got paid and doesn’t care anymore. He plays like 40 year old Ovechkin now just glides around waiting to get to his spot to only miss the net when someone gets him the pick.

  2. This type of injury seems to have become more common in recent years, with the skate going into the boards, looking like nothing much happened, but the player having to leave and missing games. McDavid is lucky. Reinbacher in Montreal had a similar one and is missing the whole season. You never used to see this and my hockey watching goes back to the 70's. Is it just that the game is faster so they go in with more force, or is it something with the new light weight design of modern hockey skates vs. the old leather ones they used to wear?

  3. This goes to show that if you make the finals, you got to give it you all, because you don't know what next year will bring.

  4. 14 million dollars….

Imagine this….Draisaitl gets home from the bank one day, takes his shoes off, sits on his couch, and says to himself, " I am NOT that guy!"…

We shouldn't have to wait till McD is out of the line up to see if Drai is that "guy" or not .

  5. Time for Drai to step up. The trouble is, none of the other forwards can piss a drop at the moment, Stu is inconsistent in goal and the D can't seem to get it together.
Honestly, I think if Jackson had just left the team untouched and simply worked on getting Holloway & Broberg signed early on we'd be in a far better place right now.

  6. I don’t wish injury on anyone, but it might actually be a good thing. It makes the rest of the team step up beyond Leon.

  7. What happened?Did McDavid hurt his ego?Did he land on his wallet and bruised his butt. It's not like he's done anything this year so far.So now Oilers are a one man team.

  8. Expecting Drai to step up is reasonable,
But when you go from two dominant lines to one, it the opposition can match lines and defend him way easier. That being said , the entire team needs to step up and fill the void.

  9. I want to say that after going that deep into the playoffs, there's still lingering ailments on a lot of these top 6 players, you know he left every piece of himself out in that run (much like everyone else). I can see Leon stepping up if McDavid is gone for or not

  10. Poor McDavid, the best years of his career wasted in Edmonton. He would've had multiple cups by now if he played for literally any other franchise.

  11. As an oilers fan, I don’t want to be pessimistic. But they look worse than I’ve ever seen in a long time, and I don’t think they do anything this year. Losing broberg, holloway and deharnais was the nail in the coffin for this group. They have no swagger, no youth, mediocre speed. Unless Stan B makes a nice fleece deal, won’t be worth the watch.

  12. leons making 14m/year. he HAS to be the one to pick it up if McDavids out. If not, really shows the league how bad that contract is. Matches with Nurse's contract.

  13. Can they make another run this year? They really miss the speed, size and youth of Holloway, McLeod, Bromberg and how they developed in the momentum of their run last season. They have added some nice pieces but the puzzle hasn’t been put together yet.

  14. 1 man team and the 1 man is injured. Back to the 1st round draft picks huh😂😂😂😂😂😂

  15. Skinner got wrecked ! Got me -10 fantasy points.. Somehow i still managed to score 13. Hope McDavid isnt hurt or out for long. Go Flyers.

  16. The dumbest thing is there were people legitimately arguing that it was a dive from McDavid. The stupidity never fails.

  17. Ah, damn. I broke my ankle the same way…. And was able to put that much weight on it immediately after. He wouldn’t go home if it was just a sprain. And that face is the look of someone who knows. You just hate to see it.

  18. The Oilers aren't built right as a team. It's like a D&D character that maxed fully into the top six and a bit into goaltending. The result is that Skinner gets hung out to dry night after night and if McDraiyman can't outscore the other team they get washed out.

  19. Last time McDavid was injured they went 4–1–2…..This might just be EXACTLY what they need…McDavid skated off, I would be more concerned if he didn't. They looked like a team that went out after the Detroit game and celebrated Drai's Birthday too much…They ALL played l9ke crap. They looked hung over and tired. Again, not too worried.

  20. Ryan 0 points in 10 games Janmark 0 goals in 10 games
Brown 1 goal in 10 games Hyman 0 goals in 10 games
Podkolzin 1 point in 10 games Henrique 1 point in 10 games
Perry 2 points in 10 games
Nuge 1 goal in 10 games

  21. People need to understand that the only difference between the panthers and the oilers statistically last year was one goal.

The boys are just as roughed up and worn as Florida, they just don’t have a ring to show for it.
